http://www.petfinder.org/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=2974... My son and I are thinking of adopting another cat as a companion to our current kitty. What do you think of Boo? |

Quincy is a bit concerned at he thinks she is too old, but I disagree. This is a picture of Boo's sister, Shey:
http://www.petfinder.org/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=3012... I like Shey as well, but Boo's face reminds me somewhat of our current kitty, Tilly. |

both are very cute and sound like good cats................ 12 isn't that old when some cats live into the early 20's. |

I agree, but my son said that we should stay in the 5-7 years old range. I think that's because the age would be closer that of our current kitty. My only concern is separating these sister cats (Boo & Shey). I get the impression that the animal shelter would prefer that they go to the same home, but I hadn't planned on adopting 2 more cats, just the one. Of course, when we do go out to Greenhill, I'll have an opportunity to look at the cats in person instead of just pictures online. It's kind of hard to get in tune with a cat's true personality through a photo alone. |

She's a very cute kitty!! I think it's wonderful that you'd consider adopting an older cat because a lot of people wouldn't, but older cats need homes, too. Of course you should meet her in person before you make your final decision. |

I'm all for adopting cats from shelters, I try to donate to our local no-kill shelter b/c my apartment won't allow pets, so I can't help out that way. I'm also for adopting adult cats, since most people seem to want kittens. This one seems great, lovely and sweet. |

What can I say??? I love ALL cats!! I'm a dam cat lover!! We recently just adopted 2 more Kittens to our household. One of them was the runt is having a hard time walking & is very tiny for it's 9 week age.
I say the more kitty cats the better! Just as long as you can take care of ALL their needs!
My mother-out-law just BOUGHT "ANOTHER" one of those kinds of cats that are part siamese & part persian & are very expensive. I think they all them "mittens" cause of their paws markings. help me out here
Only draw back is that EVERYONE of those expenxive cats that she's had has had nothing but health problems. Seems like all her cats have some sort of health problem!! & she always buys nothing but the most expensive cats too! I don't know what she's thinking. I guess it's because my father-in-law will buy her anything to shut her up!!
I've had the same (2) cats for 17 & 11 years & not one of my babys has had any health problems. |

I agree. We are planning to visit the cattery in person, but Greenhill has a link where we can view adoptable pets (cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, etc.). However, we have decided to wait until cooler weather because the new kitty will be sequestered in my room for a least a couple of weeks until she gets used to the new place and before we introduce her to Tilly. Right now, on a hot day my room can get as warm as 90+ degrees and we don't feel that is a good thing to subject a cat to. My room often is still above 80 degrees at 11 p.m. The plan is to get another kitty before the end of this year. What attracted me to Boo was how her face resembles Tilly's. |

I agree. That's where we adopted our current kitty, Tilly. We fell in love with her at first site, but she was a hard-to-place kitty because she had deformed front legs from a condition call agensis of the radial Basically she is missing the radial bone in each of her front legs and walks on what would be her forearms, if she had arms. I wish you could see her when she stands on her hind legs...she looks like a rabbit. In fact, we jokingly call her our cabbit. Also, because of her foreshortened front legs, she hops when she tries to run. All she needs now is rabbit ears! |

http://www.petfinder.org/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=3254... This is another one of the kittys that caught my attention. She's part Siamese and her name is Misha. |

She's beautiful!! She's the same breed as my first Siamese (Lilac) kitty.
I love her already!! Her markings are so beautiful!! I love Siamese cats.....cept they are SO demanding & very, very vocal! Especially during heat.
One draw back, when I used to go to work my kitty would get so mad at me that she would pee on my bed & poop out side of her clean box. Then she would go into the bathroom & take all the toilet paper off the roll.
I had to stay home from work for about a week to figure out what was wrong with her. |

My thought process went like this...
Cute! But a bit old.
Wait a second, Greenhill? The Greenhill I used to volunteer at?
Lo and behold, it is. I lived in Eugene for 4 years.
I like the cat. |

I lived there from 1997 to 2001. I graduated from South, then moved with my family to Minneapolis. I did quite a bit of volunteering at Greenhill while I was in school. We got one of our kitties there. |

http://www.green-hill.org/ I bet they have changed since you were last there. I like that they have the webpage when you can look at the animals before visiting Greenhill. This is particularly nice if you are looking for a certain breed or type of animal because you can do a specific search on the animal viewing pages now. If you were looking for a Jack Russell terrier you could do a search and see if they have any. |
