I won't tell anything about the movie, it could spoil it. He is a superhero with a drinking problem...therein lies the awesome story. |

Eh. Mark Kermode, my favourite film critic, didn't like it. He says half way through it descends into usual superhero film badness.
Thoughts? |

Not seeing it. Perhaps he and I have very, make that extrememly, different ideas about what "usual superhero film badness" means. It is unlike any movie, let alone superhero movie I have ever see. I am not qualified to be a 'critic' because I haven't seen that many movies, but I have seen most superhero ones. This movie seemed to not be about the superhero with powers, not about the superhero wanting the girl, and it's about the family guy wanting to change the world's thinking through simple caring, compassion and understanding. The superhero is just one of the earth's citizens mucking about his life, going through the motions of doing "wht's right" because something tells him he has to, not knowing why he is alive. Typical earthbound feelings I think. The villians are not superhero villians, they are run of the mill butt-holes, the mind and emotions carry the superhero villianous acts and it's the guy who lives down the street who cares about the world one guy at a time. This plot does not seem to be like any of the others, so typical is far from my mind.
I cannot tell any moooorrrre.... |

Do u mean u're not gay anymore? You're more into bisexuality?
If I wana watch a porn movie, I prefer to watch a film between one female and one male, having normal sex life, no fetish, no unclean sex.. You're not expecting me to tell you about my fetishes here!! hehehehe |
mrmarm
| | #22 posted July 6, 2008 at 7:50pm (EST) |
No, I'm still a homo, just bi porn turns me on a LOT more, however a gay old man in his 50's with a young attractive man in his 20's is pretty interesting and almost forbidly hot. Really the type you watch sounds .......... like the stuff out of movies or your neighours window just playing. I've hardly ever watched normal porn before and I doubt I'd find my fetish being adding into a porno storyline hahaha, you have fetishes hmm I'l have to guess in my mind then. |

I am very much tired of this too.
Please don't post that link..I am so not interested in what you desire sexually.
Marwan is the one agitating things, every single post that the two of them are on he has to bring up sex..It's rather annoying..This isn't some filthy hotel in a shady part of town..let it go.
And I do not want to hear an argument about your hormones. I know plenty of teenage boys that are atleast able to function without talking about that all day..
Ok, done with my rant.. |

My dad wanted to see it..but after reading a review and I watched the Today show..He determined that it sounds horrible. He said it had potential but they took it too far in that he hates life and he's a wino.
I did point out to him that some people liked it alot. |

Add me to that list. The critics don't know what they're talking about. The fact that this awesome flick got a lower rating at Rotten Tomatoes than The Doom Generation (a movie so horrible I refused to sleep the night I saw lest anything from it got into my dreams) pretty much proves that. |

Basically, from the reviews I've read, the critics seem to base their dislike for the film based on a plot twist at about the midway point in the film that I thought was brilliantly done.
Also, let's face it, these days critics have gotten so vicious in their reviews that one can't help but get the impression that they live in fear of ever seeing a movie they really like. |

Oh yeah, I don't listen to the critics either..I mean, it's their opinion not mine.
What qualifies you to be a critic? The people who are movie critics are the same people who are soccer refs..*shudder*. |
