Merv Griffin passed away and OMG he said he was gay...all this time.
Am I the only one who did not know this? |

From what I understand the tabloids said he was gay, so it could be true or it could be tabloid gossip. That being said, if he was it's understandable that he remained closeted as did celebrities like Rock Hudson. Being openly gay back in their day would have been death to their careers. Very few celebrities were brave enough to be openly gay back then. Truman Capote was one of the few exceptions. Many married & had children because that's what was expected of them. |

Perez Hilton hasn't made any mention of it..... and he's usually on top of things (including outing gays). He announced Castro died last week or the week before though.... I don't remember seeing anything about that in the real news... |

I think Castro died quite awhile ago & his brother is now running the country. Of course, Cuba isn't going to admit Castro is really dead. |

There have been several unsubstantiated reports that Castro has died. Whether he's still alive or not, no one in the U.S. knows for certain. The only ones that probably have knowledge of his living or dead status are those in his inner circle, people like his brother. I doubt the average Cuban citizen knows for certain. |

Merv Griffin was a writer, producer, show host & composer amongst other things. He composed the music for the game show, Jeopardy too.

I always figured Merv was gay. I didn't realize it was recently revealed, or that he was passing away. On the other hand I also count an the Carpenters and perhaps Donnie and Marie Osmond having been incestuous, and that's never been announced either.
Fidel's probably bed ridden and senile these days, and there's no plan for that, so they're in a holding pattern. |

Well, like I said, I don't even know who Merv is. Sounds familiar. Wasn't there a Merv Griffin show that came on a long time ago on Nick-at-Night. |
