Welcome to the Industry world. Did the US not already go through this many years ago? That is progress. they crap everything up to make a buck, than people get sick and die, than they take 30 years to clean it up and make it liveable again. From there, they will move their Industry and waste to another thirld world country with promises and cash. |

Industrial Age, Age of Industry, Industrial Revolution. We went through it. Took us quite awhile to clean up but then we didn't have the knowledge about disease and micro organisms like we do now. There is filth but can it make me sick and filth I know can make me sick. They know they are risking their lives and with no sanitation even available what choice do they have? |

Ugh, this is horrible. I recently saw a documentary about China and the same thing is happening there, although it wasn't as blatent as this. |

That's exactly what I said to my SO when we were watching the documentary about China! It's a shame they weren't able to learn from our mistakes and make better choices, but I guess greed gets the better of people and they just don't care. Although there is some hope. They showed a group of people in one region going around educating the public and the farmers about pollution and how important it is to keep the river clean. They're doing better there, but I don't think they had any factories upriver. |

This is the Daily Mail. It's already lost 50% of its credibility, if not for the caption on that first picture. How pathetically out of tone for a dreadful joke. |

I'd be curious to know who really owns the factories by those disgusting rivers... Bet you'd find a few North American names among them. |
