I don't mind the ads at all, but the notices that firefox prevented a redirect - what's that about?

I'm not sure. From searching, it seems that Firefox has some feature that prevent redirects in certain cases. I see some people posting about it. I'm not a FireFox user and I'm not sure what the feature is meant for.

It does seems quite possible even likely that an ad may do a redirect. Often ads are like little pages or frames on a page that load other small pages and sometimes that happens via redirection. This is based on what I know of ads and how web pages do redirection. Sometimes, that can be for accounting for the ads (e.g. keeping track of how often it actually was displayed). Other times, there will be an ad service (like Google AdSense - which is what I use) that manages ads and thus redirects ads to 3rd parties in some cases. I know there's a feature of AdSense where I give it a "default ad" to load if they don't have any ads to give me. I think I try to show an Amazon ad in that case, but it may only happen after a redirect.
