Question: Does it matter to you who shares the same public restrooms with you?

Explanation: There are homeless people sharing the bathrooms with you then you have gays and transgender people sharing the bathrooms and you have heterosexuals sharing the same bathrooms with you and there are transexuals sharing the same bathrooms with you, just all kinds of people sharing the same bathrooms.

jettles: old: same sexual orientation? or gender? If the explanation is what you want , sexual orientation, then change the question. Does it matter the sexual orientation of the people who share the same public restroom as you? or do you mean something completely different. the question now just asks if it matter to me who shares a public restroom with me.....

For most public bathrooms, I feel lucky if it's vaguely clean and functioning.

There's no reason this couldn't have been a decent survey. FordGuy's suggestion was spot on.

Homeless people don't use restrooms. At least not in California. They go on the ground and sidewalks.

In Colorado all kinds of people from many walks of life use the public bathrooms in Denver to the homeless and sports fans to gays and drug addicts to Politicians that is what this survey was all about? Come visit Colorado and you will see for yourself what I am talking about

I'm guessing that certain areas of town have more of the unsavory element visiting the public bathrooms there, just like everywhere. Other than those sorts, no one really notices or cares who is in there.

I saw a story on the news about homeless people in San Francisco using the public libraries. It's their right to do that on some level, but they'd just kind of hang out in there, falling asleep and such, because their homeless and such. And, they'd use the library bathrooms to basically clean up and such. Some library rules were bring broken, no homeless people complained a bit about it. But, the city also wanted to help them, so they added some social workers to the library staff to do outreach and try to get help for some of the homeless people. There are services available to help them that they don't always know about.

I think it actually depends on where a public restroom is ones in a park can be on the dirty side because staff doesn't get to it as often as one that's in a mall or fast food restaurant. In Toronto we have a couple stand alnoe pay public toilets I think it's like 25 cents to use and it cleans the washroom in between uses and if someone doesn't leave it after 30 minutes it opens the door and sounds an alram

Surely we've all had those unfortunate episodes where you can't actually get off the pot until there's <ahem> nothing left? It would be mortifying to be mid, um, evacuation and suddenly have the door fly open and alarms sound.

I think there are also motion sensors too cause too that would trigger it too like if there is no movement for 30 minutes.

We only have one restroom here at work, and there is one guy that is in there FOREVER... we always joke about a 5 minute timer that flashes lights, sirens go off, flushes, sprays water, and opens the door.

Our main library downtown is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Almost every bench and armchair throughout the entire building contains a sleeping homeless person. It is unsettling.

Where is a homeless person supposed to sleep in a city if homeless shelters are filled to capacity?
