What would you do on the fourth plinth for one hour?
In Trafalgar Square in London, there are four plinths. Three are occupied by statues (two generals and a king) but the fourth plinth was empty for many years. Since 2005, there has been a rolling programme of modern art on the fourth plinth. From 6th July - 14th October the plinth will feature a work by Antony Gormley, in which members of the public can apply to do whatever they want on the plinth for one hour. The only caveats are that participants must be 16 or older (but you can ignore this to answer the survey), only one person can actually be on the plinth and whatever they do must be legal. Amongst the 615 participants chosen for July are an 83 year old woman who will signal using semaphore and a woman who will hold her 20th birthday party on the plinth.

| Biggles | N/A | posted 16-Jun-2009 8:44pm This has been sat here for a couple of days - no nitpicks/needs works/HFs, but only four reasonables. Will someone either flag up something that's wrong with it, or give it the final push so that it qualifies? |
