I think the question should be in the appropriate place.
Change the survey question to something like:
Has the recent cost increase of gasoline affected your travel plans this year? |

What does the question have to do with the explanation or vice versa? I think you're asking "Has the increase in the price of gasoline affected your summer travel plans?" Even so, you're assuming that everyone lives in the northern hemisphere. |

The selection of countries seems rather nonsensical...
You could put: Will you travel abroad or in your own country...
