Biggles: It's evident I have no problems "being told" to change the survey to multi-pick (given its present state). What I predicted is that others may have a problem with it. I didn't mean to come across as (too) irritated by it. (But I thought I might have, which is why I added the laughter at the end of my last comment.)

Sorry.

If you can't cope with being told that a survey ought to be multi-pick rather than single-pick then maybe you *shouldn't* be going through qual?

Oh boy. Taking a look at this now, I'm sure the next comment from any qualifier is going to be something like, "This shouldn't be a multiple pick!" Haha!

Like I stated in my other survey, things are too scarce here in qual to argue. It should be know, though, that the qual stage of any survey is enough to discourage creating any...really, it is.

Well...for the situation where someone had other means to eating lunch, like you say, they might choose the option that reads, "I had (or have) another means of buying lunch..." I included that option for vouchers and meal stamps, etc.

Also, for those who did the combination bringing/not bringing their lunch...they are, by default, able to answer the overall question, "What did it cost?" If they aren't qualified to answer the question at all, then they should select one of the other options.

No?

I think this should be multi-pick too.

You might want to make this multiple pick because there are those who may have eaten school lunches, but didn't pay anything because they were low enough income to qualify for free lunches at school. Also, some people alternate between bringing lunch from hom home and buying their lunch based somewhat on what is on the school lunch menu that day. I know my son did that when he was in school.
