When you come to a "four-way" stop, what is the rule?
I could ask 5 people and get 5 different answers. Assuming you are not the only vehicle at the intersection, what do you think?

| rhino3 | N/A | posted 28-Oct-2002 5:11pm kaleb777: Does it matter? Because that is what I want you and/or others to explain. Are you already saying there are different rules depending if you are turning or going straight? Those are the things I want YOU to tell me. Also does it matter how many vehicles? Does that change the rule? This is exactly why I wrote the survey. Please just do your best at explaining what you think (or know) is supposed to happen. You may give your own scenario if you like, but if a rule exists, it shall exist no matter where you are going or how many vehicles there are. If not, then that is what I would love for you (all) to explain. |

| Locutus | old | posted 28-Oct-2002 3:25pm I agree with kaleb777. Also, how many vehicles are there? |
| kaleb777 | nitpick | posted 28-Oct-2002 2:58pm Is everyone going straight ahead or are some turning left or right? That affects the rule. |

| darkshadowsseeker | reasonable | posted 28-Oct-2002 2:33am I think this will work much better. Thanks for being so flexible. |
| rhino3 | old | posted 28-Oct-2002 2:23am Ok, made it multi pick and changed some of the wording in the options. How is it now? |

| rhino3 | old | posted 28-Oct-2002 1:44am Kate: Aaaack! I see, I see. Do you think it is too much to assume that people will relate that in their comments or with the other option and comments? I know, one should never assume...LOL. I may just check back on it tomorrow and see if I should re-vamp it. Thank you. |
| darkshadowsseeker | old | posted 28-Oct-2002 12:59am Maybe you could tweak it and ask what the rule is in that person's country and of course you would keep the option for saying that they don't know what a 4-way stop is just in case there isn't such a rule in their country. Who knows, maybe the rule differs depending on what part of the world you live in. I understand teatree's dilemma as well. She's never driven a car once in her life and I don't even think she's ever read a driver's manual from the DMV so she probably has no idea what the laws are concerning 4-way stops. I of course know what the manual says, but I used to drive and had to know this to pass my driving test. |
| rhino3 | old | posted 28-Oct-2002 12:38am Ok, well maybe this isn't such a great survey...I see what you are saying. But even if you don't drive, you might know the rule? And I see, too, about the other country reference...but that would also be interesting to know. Maybe I will just let it sit for now and see what other suggestions I might get before I make any changes to it...Thank you. |
| teatree | old | posted 28-Oct-2002 12:30am I can understand ano's comment. I don't drive and therefore I also don't know what the answer is. I don't know for certain if that's what he meant, but that's my interpretation. I think that the rules may differ from country to country as well. That's a distinct possibility. |

| rhino3 | old | posted 28-Oct-2002 12:03am I mean I am only looking for one answer and right now I can't see how there could be more than one answer. Could you give me an example please? |
| rhino3 | old | posted 27-Oct-2002 11:58pm anoddolivion: Could you say why it should be multi because I don't see why. Thanks |
| anoddoblivion | old | posted 27-Oct-2002 11:52pm Multipick please. |
