metaphor n : a figure of speech in which an expression is used to refer to something that it does not literally denote in order to suggest a similarity.

Language is a vast and deep reservoir of metaphors. Some say consciousness itself is composed purely of metaphor. From all the different ways to describe a thing by comparing it to something it is not, which most tickles your fancy? Similes are also welcome.
