What does the lyric "If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now" in the song Stairway to Heaven actually mean?
In what circumstances would a bustle in your hedgerow be alarming in the first place?
I know what it is referring to, but have rarely met anyone else who had a clue. Maybe some of you do?

| darkshadowsseeker | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 7:45pm mrsbbear-I'll cast this HF vote, but I'll take it off if you want me to. It's up to you. |
| darkshadowsseeker | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 7:42pm Would you like us to help you remove it? I'm not meaning that in a nasty way, but we could HF it out if you truly wanted it removed. Since you did it anonymously, you can HF as well. |
| mrsbbear | N/A | posted 20-Feb-2002 7:28pm Well, looks like I must have somehow done it anonymously without meaning to. Barf. Now I can't even remove the silly thing. GROAN> |
| mrsbbear | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 7:24pm Sorry about the soy thing Kate, I didn't mean to be a butthead. And I did NOT do this survey anonymously, ... did I? If I did, I didn't mean to! Hmmmm, let's find out if I can remove it.... |
| darkshadowsseeker | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 6:34pm If this is your's mrsbbear, how can you remove it. You can't edit or delete a survey in qualification if you did it anonymously. I'm sorry you found me so irate, but it gets my goat when I go to the trouble of providing a link so you can see what the lyrics are so you won't make another mistake and you ignore it. |

| mrsbbear | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 6:10pm Okay, sorry to the one or two people who liked the survey, but I'm removing it. And to Irate Kate: Of all the Kates I have known, you are the Katest. Maybe you should take a chill pill or get more soy into your diet. |
| darkshadowsseeker | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 5:40pm The next line is not what you said it is, it is "It's just a spring clean for the May Queen". Again I went to the link below. Maybe you should try doing that sometime survey creator instead of continually putting your foot in your mouth! |
| romkey | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 4:38pm I really like this survey. |

| mrsbbear | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 2:43pm Okay, maybe I'll just remove the survey since everyone is opposed to it.But to let you all know, the following lyric, "It's just a sprinkling for the May Queen" does NOT explain that the previous lyric is a reference to WWII hedgerow warfare. Hedgerows were used to stop or slow down tanks, but they also provided cover for soldiers. It would be extremely alarming to hear a bustling in your hedgerow because it means someone is near you, and you have two choices: Shoot first and risk hitting your pal, or wait to see who it is and risk getting killed. Sigh. |
| Frostbrand | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 2:10pm I agree. Just visit the link. |
| Dino | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 8:12am Aw, ah Led Zepplin survey! I want this but I've got a feeling that the others are right. Maybe do one about 'When The Levy Breaks' being an analogy for female ejaculation. That's my interpretation anyway. I guess its wrong but it puts a whole new slant on it. Sorry- I'm all for Led Zep surveys but I guess this just doesn't cut it. |

| darkshadowsseeker | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 1:20am It's the 4th song on the Untitled album (see link below) and as I said previously, the next lyric explains your lyric., |
| darkshadowsseeker | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 1:17am Go to http://www.mp3nut.com and click on lyrics archive and select Led Zeppelin and you'll find it listed on one of their albums. |
| mimind | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 12:45am love the band.....this isnt a surveyyou can go to kates website to find out about the lyrics |
| darkshadowsseeker | old | posted 20-Feb-2002 12:22am I just checked mp3nut.com and it is "now" not "man". Actually the next lyric explains it. |

| moonstone | old | posted 19-Feb-2002 10:46pm These are not the correct lyrics...it's 'don't be alarmed NOW'. And, wouldn't you be alarmed if there was some noises coming from your bushes? I don't get what you are asking here?? |
