I don't have a car, but I wouldn't mind if I did.

We both share a car. We use it whenever we want, and don't ask each other. We tell each other if one of us absolutely needs it for something, but other than that, whoever wants to use it just uses it.

I would be confused if he asked, since I don't have a car. We do plan to buy a used car together in the very near future, though.

Annoyance...that means I have to switch the car seats to the other car...In Hong Kong, switching car seats is more of a pain because our cars are about a 5 minute walk away. However, I do like driving the Lexus sometimes---it corners better than the Mercedes and it's smaller so it is easier to park here. At home in the US, switching the car seats isn't really an issue since both cars are in our basement. I don't really like driving his truck, though. It's BIG---a Ford Expedition. The PT Cruiser is more fun to drive.

None! My SO has her own truck but if she wants to use one of mine she is more than welcome to and she knows that. She will use one of my vehicles any time I'm tuning hers up or something like that.

we have one car, and a big ole truck. i do not, will not drive the truck. i know my hub's work schedule, so it's rather easy to know when i can quick use the car or not.

Depends, Mitzie owns a Honda Integra I drive a Toyota tacoma 4wheel p/up........ she uses it when she goes long distances because it is in better shape..... but everytime she comes back the seat adjustment is wrong, CD player settings are all wrong, usually more mess with the kids stuff.

But because of the bad roads etc I prefer her driving it.....so annoyance with resignation afterwards.

a kind of pride that my car is useful to her... but, it almost never happens... I offer it to her, but usually she turns me down.

I cannot stand the word "borrow" in this connection.

I would probabbly be stressed out and worried a bit, depending on their driving skills.

but right now I have neither a car nor an SO so the situation doesnt apply to me.

pleasure.. When he says he needs to use mine, I ask him to fill it up and he always does. lol I wish that I could drive his. It's a standard and I have never learned to drive one, and have NO coordination. I want to learn when I have the time. His pick up is so nice and pretty. I'm getting sick of my car. Next time he wants to use it, I'll ask him to go have that annoying squeal fixed.

"To obtain or receive (something) on loan with the promise or understanding of returning it or its equivalent. "

why?...........I am curious

Thank you, but I said "cannot stand", not "cannot understand"! My wife does not "borrow my car". It is simply an inadequate expression. My neighbour or some friend could borrow my car, but my wife can't. She would probably ask if I need it right now, but she would not ask "may I borrow your car ?" I'd think there were something wrong between us!

Ah........... You misunderstood me * smile * I knew you understood but I thought you were querying my use of the word "borrow" But I understand what you mean............. I would feel the same way if my wife asked to "borrow" money

My SO and I own the car together. Or rather, the title's in my name but he makes the payments. It's our car. So when he wants to use it, it's fine with me, and vice versa. So far I don't think we've had any conflicts over who was going to use it when, mostly because I really don't need it that often.

My significant other takes care of my car. Regular service, gas, car wash, insurance, payments, and when one car is worn out he gets me a new one.

Initially fear, then annoyance because they know the mere thought is fearful for me. Finally depending how far they want to travel determines how long I will be fearful. * laughing out loud * I've wrecked so many cars they were mine though, well most of them were mine.

I don't care unless I need to be somewhere & we have been my car more because it uses less gas than the SUV anyway.
