We live in Metairie, right west of New Orleans. We evacuated to Houston because my brother and his family was able to get a few rooms there. It took us 13 hours to get there and 9 hours to get back home. It usually takes us a little less than 6 hours each way. It was taking people 9 hours just to get to Baton Rouge which is an hour and a half from New Orleans. I'm glad we left because we could have gotten the worst of it had it not turned when it did. My prayers to those who are suffering loss of life or home. |

GOOD JOB! It's about time somebody forced HR to do something, why would they sit on it for so long when it's degrading and hurting their employees?
Well, I have some great news!
I won a contest on the radio! Me and a guest -- Martin of course -- won roundtrip airfare to Las Vegas, 2 nights in a hotel somewhere on or near the strip, and tickets to the No Doubt concert at The Palms Hotel & Casino! Wish we had more time and I'd come out to your casino but we are flying out there Saturday, June 26th, the concert is Sunday night, and we fly back Monday the 28th. I want to fit so much in that we'll be dead tired and crash when we get back... if we're still alive. I'm so excited, I'm still in shock that I won something so cool!
Any advice? Talk to you soon!

I think you're right on to go straight to HR. You wouldn't be comfortable going to her anyway, from what you've said she doesn't deserve the respect to go to her first. Don't forget to update us tomorrow! Good luck!!! |

Hey, I got the Gilmore Girls DVD set on the 5th too! It was a gift from my SO for putting up with him for 3 years so far. His gift is in the mail, C.S.I. Season 3. I can't wait to start watching GG! |

I'm sorry for your loss, your grandson probably won't really remember in the long run but he'll really wonder where the puppy is. It'll all be okay as long as you focus on making everything as normal as possible for him. At least you still have another puppy! All is not lost. Keep us updated!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! Even those of you who thought I was Kate!!!  I haven't even been online since that afternoon because when I got home that day my computer wouldn't stay on and the internet certainly wouldn't work when it did stay on. We had a virus... a birthday virus, I guess. Anyway, thanks to everyone who had cake and ice cream in my honor. I had MUDSLIDES! Oh, yeah... and some tiramisu at dinner.
