Hi, Bill, how are ya? I was thinking about the many surveys lately that have been made that have either been abandoned or (and this is what I am wondering) have had some kind of difficulty and sometimes even deleted either out of frustration or even by accident (now this is where I am going). Also remember the 'newbie' that tried really hard to create, edit, delete by mistake, ask for help in feedback a little while back? I know from chatting with her that she really just couldn't figure all of it out. Like where it goes after you make it - how to find it - and if you haven't figured out the 'customize' it could be pretty difficult to find again. ANYWAY, I sometimes wonder if some of the 'newbies' even know they can, and most likely will, have to edit it at some point. I remember a few coming back and wondered 'where did my survey go'? What I am FINALLY getting is, do you suppose there could be a - maybe more specific and informational - page *before* you actually get to create the survey instead of *after*? I am not sure if that page is being fully read by everyone, or maybe understood. You know, to tell people how fun it can be, but that they also have some responsibility to tend to their surveys while in qual and to better explain to them what to look for and what to do about it? People seem to miss the parts about using an 'other' option and also to search before creating their survey, too.

What do you think? Thanks, Jek

gosh, kate, i tell you what, if i wasnt so far away from you i would certainly offer you AND your son a place to stay - and you could both have jobs in no time! either i am in michigan or most of the time florida. the wages in florida arent as good as north, but it is a lot cheaper to live all around...and a lot more jobs than michigan and certainly oregon. i remember the first time i left michigan, unemployment rate was 25%!!! do you have any other family or friends somewhere you could relocate to? sounds like things will never really be good there for a long time. you talking about the mission is killing me, kate. and oh yea, not to mention Mr Jerko...what an ass. i know you are a respectful person, kate, but why ask him? just bring in that computer and hook it up in your room to your phone line...whats to ask? i know, its his house...

well, on a lighter note...i love love love the harry and david chocolate covered candy coated bing cherries. (and lots of other stuff, too, of course). they are to die for - that and godiva chocolates. mmmmmmmmmmm.

later, jek

hi,

there is a survey in qual right now:

http://surveycentral.org/survey/13885.html

that either there is some sort of glich in the system or else we have some sort of cheater here.

the survey was updated at one point, but neither the votes nor the time left was changed as in the usual manner.

thanks, jek

i just happened to get this today in my email. i went back and posted it in that survey about ridiculous email. i just think it is hilarious and thought maybe you guys would get a laugh. i cant wait to try some of these out:

How to Maintain a Healthy Level of Insanity:

1. At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars.  See if they slow down.

2. Page yourself over the intercom. Don't disguise your voice.

3. Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with that.

4. Put your garbage can on your desk and label it "in"

5. Put decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has gotten over their caffeine addictions, switch to espresso.

6. In the memo field of all your checks, write "for sexual favors".

7. Finish all your sentences with "in accordance with the prophecy."

8. Dont use any punctuation marks

9. As often as possible, skip rather than walk.

10. Ask people what sex they are. Laugh hysterically after they answer.

11. Specify that your drive-through order is "to go".

12. Sing along at the opera.

13. Go to a poetry recital and ask why the poems don't rhyme.

14. Put mosquito netting around your work area. Play a tape of jungle sounds all day.

15. Five days in advance, tell your friends you can't attend their party because you're not in the mood.

16. Have your coworkers address you by your wrestling name, Rock Hard Kim.

17. When the money comes out the ATM, scream "I won!", "I won!" "3rd time this week!!!!!"

18. When leaving the zoo, start running towards the parking lot, yelling "run for your lives, they're loose!!"

19. Tell your children over dinner. "due to the economy, we are going to have to let
one of you go."

the forum wont let me post number 20 (which is no where near as funny as the rest) but its on the survey if you care to look.
