I think you are right to a certain degree, that some can find any type of preaching distasteful but on the average I see(and this is before and after being a Christian) Christians ridiculed far more, for preaching Christ.
But I think I do see why you and others can find it hard to hear. I have to remind myself what it was like for me. Before I was saved a friend told me because I wasn't saved I was going to hell. I didn't listen to her. I heard "Tammy, You are going to hell!" What she said tho was "Tammy, you will go to hell if you don't know Christ as your Saviour before you die" ....I guess what I am trying to say is no matter how it is said, when ANYTHING is said "in love", from someone who cares why should we react with bad manners?

Christ will always be preached. Others will continue to preach their faith to me. When I am told "from their love and concern" that I am dead wrong, I want to make sure I treat them with respect and love in return with my words and my actions. And if I am unsure of their intent, I can ask. I know it isn't always easy but at least in this forum I can take a breath and calm down before making a post I might regret because I said something mean, just because I didn't like what someone said, and believe me there have been replies/comments/surveys that have upset me or I think just are not appropriate. But because as others have pointed out, there is a diverse group that comes here, so what I may find offensive or dislike, another doesn't feel this same way.

Hi * smile *
From what I read just below this box here it says:

"Abuse of this forum may result in the suspension of your account.

I wonder what exactly is meant by offensive language. Thanks for your response in advance,
Tammy

With any faith, one can tell another what the other is telling them is uncool, boring and you must be brainwashed to believe so....also with any faith, as in Christianity, the "church" telling others it was hearsay to believe the Sun orbited the Earth or the Earth was round was 'man's' saying so, not God. Christians are not perfect and still sin. Christians are no better, no worse, then one who is not a Christian.

I have a question. Why does it seem that it is okay for someone to start 'preaching' what they believe, if it's Buddhism, New-agism, Wicca etc but not Christianity? When a Christian tells you, in the name of love, and it is, for really think about this 'A Christian believes one must repent and come to God, recieving his gift of salvation, Jesus Christ, so when they die they can be with God' Believing this, we do not want one person to not make it to heaven. We may be telling you, you MUST accept God's gift before you die so you will be in heaven, BUT, we can never FORCE one too, that is the only thing that is personal about Christianity, is on one's own, must they come to Jesus. In that we are like others in sharing what we believe God tells us to share. And there are all kinds of Christians as there are all kinds of ppl in other faiths. And I would think in any faith, are we not to treat each other with respect and love? No matter who we are talking too? No matter how much we don't like what we hear? God tells Christians to preach his good news to EVERYONE.

Someone mentioned about this place being only for fun. I thought it was also for serious discussion? For, well anything one wishes to discuss and share for as some others say here often, there are many different ppl here who believe in so many different things so that tells me everything and anything can, should and will be discussed here. Whether we like it or not. And tho we are all different, I can't see why we all can't treat each other with compassion and be cordial.

You went to the doctor right? If so what did he say? Did he rule out bronchitis? With having to work it makes getting better faster more difficult * frown *
