There are a number of things here:

1. Survey qualification need not be an exact science. 5 people thought this was reasonable. For a person to say "The survey needed work" is a statement of their opinions only.

2. To change a view from "needs work" (with reasons) to "Hopelessly flawed" is somehting to which I object. If you can find reasons to improve a survey to begin with it seems odd later to consider it impossible to improve.

3. (a) If ASEXYBABE looks again at the survey question s/he will see it asks for comments about how much you would pay in the comments section not in the answers.
(b) the survey asks for the experiences of those who wear hose AND have had problems with them. The difference between the "Abstain" option and an arbitrary "other" option does not attract much significance as I look at it.
(c) so taking (a) and (b) you can see that people have widely varying views on surveys. Get over it.

4. The effort and complication in avoiding this problem by overriding specific needs work votes could be very great.

5. Hoplessly Flawed votes are cast without reasons. So a survey creator has no idea how to improve things and in theory they shouldn't be able to if it is genuinely hopelessly flawed. I think it should be kept seperate from needs work votes.

My views are probably not representative of anyone else...

Bill,

I do find the nickname 'hitler' disturbing and offensive to me personally. However I agree that it may not be sufficient reason to ask that person to change their nick.

Oh, if only everyone could be nice.
