I don't mind you asking Amanda.

I had a tumor called a Lymphangioma removed. It was in my side, under my pectoral (chest) muscle and in my breast. It ended up being the size of a medium-zized toy Nerf football. Or, if it's a better comparison, a VHS tape.
It was benign of course. I knew I was eventually going to have this surgery, but was hoping to put it off for another year, since I just started a new job in October. Doctor told me if I did that I would have a chance of developing Lymphosarcoma, which is a rarely survivable malignancy. That hit me like a ton of bricks.

I have the consolation of knowing this is better than I originally thought it would be. We all thought I'd be having a partial mastectomy, but since the majority of it was under my pectoral, I avoided that. As much as I was wanting a tummy tuck (TRAM flap reconstruction takes tummy tissue to use in breast), I'm happy I don't have to face another surgery in June. I knew that if I was going to have reconstructive surgery, I did NOT want the cheesy looking implants. So, TRAM Flap it was going to be.

This was the 3rd time I've had this removed, but it's never been this big. 5 years ago it was the size of a kiwi. Doctor said that if it comes back again, I might face a radical mastectomy if it continues to invade my muscles so much.

"Did you think to yourself "People do this voluntarily?!"

I do now! And they do it repeatedly!!!! Crazy people!

Do NOT have breast surgery unless you absolutely need it!
Recovery is not fun.

I had my surgery on December 29th and I'm still dealing with weakness & pain. This might be worth it if I had implants & looked better, but I doubt it. At least it's only on one side.

And a friend of my husband's said she had pain for a year after having implants. Oh Geez! I still have 10 months left of this?

Anyway, don't put youself through this if you don't have to. And, yes, I had to.

A woman in Los Angeles is being raped right now. It's all Bush's fault.

"The lack of refineries has more to do with companies who own the refineries which most likely collude and diliberatly build less refineries to artificially keep the supply low than eviornmental laws."

Actually, there are environmental laws that make it prohibitive to build new refineries. Red tape makes it take 5 years to build a new one. Unfortunately, Bush hasn't seen fit to cut through that red tape & shove it back to the environmentalists.

Well, the Red Cross had food & water ready to go to the Superdome and the Convention Center but they were told by local officials NOT to go in.

"You listen to Rush Limbaugh? ewwww."

Why don't you try reading what the lady says before judging?

" course she listens to Rush Limbaugh and all the hate he spews."

What would you know about hate speech if you haven't listened to him? Actually, Neal Boortz & Glenn Beck are my favorites.

Oh, and about hate speech...calling Bush a Nazi isn't hate speech? Insinuating that all whites left New Orleans & didn't help the poor black people because they hate blacks isn't hate speech?

"Damn hypocrite, talking crap on other addicts while he himself was doing the same things."

Hmm, I guess that means you wouldn't take pain medication if you were in extreme pain? Ok, freebird, on your deathbed, I expect you to lay there in misery.

I'm not brainwashed. I just realize there are many different factors involved in the price of gas.

Did I ever say there was no price gouging going on?

Problem is, that's ALL you guys are pointing to regarding the prices.

You don't even want to look at our lack of refineries & environmental laws that make it so expensive. You aren't taking into consideration the fact that we aren't looking for our own oil in this country. You aren't taking the fact that we have 40 different formulas for gas into consideration & the fact that those formulas have to change between winter & summer!

I'm not defending oil companies. I'm pointing out the failures of our country to take action regarding refineries & restrictive environmental laws that affect all of us in our checking accounts.

So, now I ask: Who is being brainwashed? It certainly isn't me because I'm looking at ALL reasons.

Did I NOT say Bush was not free of blame?

Bush cannot implement a local emergency plan. But he can implement the Insurrection Act and take the power from the Governor. Read my post about "What Bush did wrong"

But take into consideration...he would have been speared for taking power from a Democratic Governor!
He couldn't win either way.
