That sounds really sad * frown *
MWS sung another song way back about someone who died -- do you know the song "I hear Leeshia"?
I think Leeshia was his cousin or something, and she died.
It makes me cry! * frown *

Can't say that I know that one. Is it an Eros Ramazotti song?
I have two CD of his. The first one (Spanish version)and "Eros Live" with music in Italian, Spanish and English. He is so-oo good!

The Beatles- Just classic music.
Snoop Doggy Dog- His lyrics make a lot more sense than most of the rappers out right now *coughNELLYcough*.
Elton John- I saw one of his concerts on TV and it rocked; I've been a big fan ever since.

If I was stranded on a deserted island with a solar powered cd player, and a BMG order form corked in a bottle, floating out to the open sea, the five music artists I would have selected for my introductory shipment would be, in no particular order -- Nirvana, The Beatles, Sex Pistols, Bob Marley and the Wailers, and Metallica. Don't ask me why, I really don't have an answer.

I've pretty much got sick of the whole pop music, rich famous bands scene at about 6th grade and found alot better music, and have been listening to it since. More mainstream music that I like includes
The Eels, Bloodhound gang (although their earlier albums were better)
Beastie boys (all of their music), ... I also liked the work that "Gorillaz" did in their video "Clint Eastwood", although Im not crazy about the song.

Many music listeners have forgotten the "Motown Sound 1960's" and the "Philly Sound 1970's." They removed alot of singers from street corners into stadiums and concert halls.
The soulful sound of "Frank Sinatra" can be found in Marvin Gaye or you can hear Sarah Vaughan in "Judy Garland."
Love the music.

I am not very music literate, but I know what I like so far...my grandfather for being the cartoon loving, cereal eating role model that he was and for his basso profundo church recordings, elvis costello for his soulful sputtering voice and his quirky take on life, Chopin-for his wonderfully moving water-night music, Bjork-for her amazing ability to translate an ecstatic and intimate life into words I can feel immediately...and I don't know maybe radiohead...they're good but my tastes are always changing. Art and Music are highly personal...I'd be surprised if someone else liked the same combination of artists that I do...actually, its not even about artists its about the moods they create. Oh, yeah...Jeff Buckley...I can't forget him...he is one huge mood...God he is frame-wracking! I love him too. And I heard one song by the velvet underground...one song...where have they been all my life?

A lot of that music is stuff I had to toss for awhile. There's a streak of darkness which i had to avoid identifying with until such time as i could encapsulate and observe such forces. It looks like you have a water consciousness followed by some air earth and fire. none of those are necessarily good or bad.
So, are you looking around you yet? A good first experiment is to listen to the radio in a bad mood and write a journal of all the lyrics you notice; do it again when ecstatic and write down what lyrics surface.
NANNERMUFFlN
(reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 12-Aug-2001 9:02am
You are indeed tuned into my frequency because I had just turned on the radio about 20 minutes ago and I AM in a bad mood at the moment. Ok, 'bad' is a bit strong, 'disturbed' is more accurate. Tying in with what we're discussing on the Tarot survey and my path, the song that's playing is Zeppelin's "Ramble On". The lyrics seem to speak directly to me:

Leaves are falling all around,
It's time on was on my way.
Thanks to you, I'm much obliged
For such a pleasant stay.

And now it's time for me to go,
The autumn moon lights my way.
But now I smell the rain,
And with it pain,
And it's headed my way.
Ah, sometimes I grow so tired,
But I know one thing I got to do,

Ramble On,
And now's the time, the time is now
To sing my song.
I'm goin' 'round the world...

You need to drop old weight. It's like crowded roots in a planter that prevent you from new growth. Solving problems through self-inquiry gets old. Sometimes it is itself the problem. Thinking about better things to come and acting upon it helps prune the dead wood.
NANNERMUFFlN
(reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 12-Aug-2001 12:12pm
Root-bound, that's me! Self-inquiry is my problem, it's what keeps me fighting myself. If only I wasn't my own worst enemy. Nothing a little brain transplant wouldn't fix. Hope I can hang on 'till then * wry smile *
