| Kristal_Rose | posted 7-May-2001 6:05am Anything I'm interested in knowing usually comes to me in a day or two. Usually in the form of television (for arts and sciences & such) or through vision quest meditations for the more serious stuff. there are somethings that take a year of experiences to really start understanding. As some anonymous person made me realise. I don't know for sure why everyone seems subject to suffering. When I meet an adult I can usually identify the karma, but that doesn't explain grand scale atrocities or even why innocent children next door are subject to their grandmothers hell. I have a feeling god won't have some friend e-mail me the reason for that one tomorrow. Only when I throw in karma from prior lives can I answer that. Perhaps I should dig into the past life karma of the innocent neighbor kids if I can and test the theory out. In my visions I have seen the history of much evil, from tigers to fences, flaming torches and spears, even Lilith and a few other evil or destructive deities. Why it exists, and why innocent people are subject to it, I do not know. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 7-May-2001 6:08am It all comes down to wisdom, responsibility, and knowing how to best use my time and talents. |

| Kristal_Rose | (reply to LindaH) posted 9-May-2001 5:40am What I do is gather the ingredients. If your supermarket is like mine, the truly, not the fake international sections are much cheaper and yet far better quality. Then meditate upon the cultures roots, whethar that be horus and the nile, or whatever mythology and geography that culture had. Then just cook anything with the ingredients. A lot easier and more satisfying than following some recipe because you become one with the entire experience, rather than a spectator. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to spidertea) posted 9-May-2001 5:44am Sure, in a hotel room there's the hot tap water method. At home you can add peanutbutter, pineapple, onion, and peppers to get Thai ramen. There are billions of ways to prepare ramen. |

| Lauren | posted 9-May-2001 10:00pm Who my true friends are. Like I wish there was an invisible meter only I could see that let me know how much people cared for me. Cause its really hard sometimes to tell, and trust is a difficult thing for me. But oh well. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Lauren) posted 10-May-2001 1:35am It changes all the time to the extent that you love them (more or less). Be friends with everyone you meet. The joy you experience is that from your own heart. It is increased by giving. To rely upon the love of others is to be a vampire, though welcome it in when you see it is offered. Love is not stone; It is as dynamic as water. I trust no one but god, who fortunately, operates all the people. I ask that no one trust me, because, although I will always mean well, the moment I am taken for granted, or I am motivated by duty rather than love, murphy's law will prevent me from serving on your behalf. Presume them to be your friends until proven wrong. Otherwise, your distrust will be reflected back to you. Other people might help kindle your heart, but is in you. When it's gushing like a waterfall from a diamond, you'll find you have an abundant love for every star, eye, & apple in Gods universe without asking for love because god had it hidden in you all the time. Live light heartedly and be good to yourself. Don't bother asking if they love you, but neither suspect them of not. God gives to you what you give to god. People are the primary media through which this is done. |
| micah | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 10-May-2001 5:48am There's a song like that? |

| Kristal_Rose | (reply to romkey) posted 13-May-2001 4:34am casava root works fine. So do boiled down toe nail clippings. I have quite the jam collection with all sorts of guava, rose petal, ginger pear, etc. I think my all time favorite was licorice-mint made by some monks (Oblates of St. Genesius) in wine country, north CA. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to LindaH) posted 13-May-2001 4:50am I just arranged my fridge in a continental spectrum: mexican-american-mediteranean-mideast-tropical island-asian. I have half a dozen types of jars of chilis which find their way into thai, indian, etc. but since my main dish is supreme nachos, they're kept with mexican. As time goes on, it's like I'm becoming my own island, drawing from my common denominators from all the other continents. So I've centered on chili, onion, pineapple, red bell pepper, tomatoes, dates, cream cheese, ... As far as your pasta goes, my rule is figure out how to make your favorite sauces, after which pasta, rice, corn cake/mush, pastry, potatoes can all be pretty much substituted. The'll all put up with anything from a garlic spaghetti sauce to thai curry or a meat & cherry sauce. |
