| doom | posted 12-Mar-1998 2:28pm I have always loved my name. |
| Gamera | posted 12-Mar-1998 3:29pm sometimes. I used to hate it as a teen, I thought it was clunky. Now I don't really have much opinion about it. |
| gilly | posted 12-Mar-1998 3:42pm When I was a kid, I hated not being able to find anything personalized, but now I like having a unique name. |
| bill | posted 12-Mar-1998 4:44pm As a kid it bothered me, but as I've gotten older I realize it doesn't matter. Bill is fine, Marrs was a little annoying. Really my initials were the biggest hassle. BM = bowel movement. |
| Atzilut | posted 12-Mar-1998 4:45pm My given name? well, no. It was my grandfather's name, I keep it out of deference to my mom. My name that Everyone Calls Me (Even my parents, actually) is h -- (yes, just h) not H not H. not h. not "h" not "oh, your name is 'h'; in that case you can call me ____(insert their first initial)" That, I like. |
| Dolemite | posted 12-Mar-1998 6:27pm My name was voted as a sexy name by GQ magazine, or so I hear. Actually my first name comes from the old testament and my middle name from the new testament. This is despite the fact the neither of my parents are religious. |
| laurel | posted 12-Mar-1998 8:02pm i didn't used to when i was in grade school, mostly because the kids used to tease me about it a lot. now, i'm pleased that i have a fairly unique name. |
| jcdino | posted 12-Mar-1998 9:28pm I could wish it were a bit more unique, but that's ok. Most people call me by my initials anyhow. |
| elijahblue | posted 14-Mar-1998 6:19pm Yeah, it's not too weird or too common, and at this point I identify with it and wouldn't want it changed. |
| armygirl | posted 14-Mar-1998 7:48pm I like my first name much more than my last name. |
| Jaime | posted 16-Mar-1998 7:13am It's my name, and I'm accustomed. But, anyhow, I like it... |
| vanadium | posted 16-Mar-1998 11:34am Not particularly. "John". I don't even turn around when I hear it called in a crowded place. |
| steve | posted 16-Mar-1998 5:07pm My first name is fine; my family name is a nightmare. |
| hunter | posted 16-Mar-1998 7:04pm It's very flexible and I think it suits me fairly well. |
| KenShingo | posted 18-Mar-1998 12:12pm it's the same one as my dad's annoying because there's no word for "junior" in Japanese. |
| fiore | posted 18-Mar-1998 4:54pm I LOVE my name and wouldn't change it. For a definition check out the survey about FIORENTINO LARA: Good survey! |
| Artemis | posted 18-Mar-1998 7:46pm Does this mean your whole name? As in first, middle and last? Or does it just mean your first name. If it's the first, then no, I hate my middle name. |
| joe | posted 18-Mar-1998 8:16pm actually this isnt my name. i changed it when i ran away when i was 13. and my last name is Lira, which is money in italian, which is cool for a number of reasons |
| zoomie | posted 31-Mar-1998 11:54pm No. Nobody can pronounce it, or spell it right. |
| Resy | posted 6-Apr-1998 3:47pm I like the my real name, my nicknames, and my married name! I even like my email name! ... my thighs, now that's another matter, ha! |
| Pigeon | posted 7-Apr-1998 4:31pm Its different but I like when people say it. It sounds so strange to have have somone saying your name for some reason |
| Tonya | posted 16-Apr-1998 7:13am Yes and No. I like my first name, but everyone spells it wrong. And a lot of people mis-hear my middle name |
| Crimson | posted 22-Apr-1998 1:55am I like my first name, but find my last name unexciting. |
| Jimmy | posted 22-Apr-1998 6:08am it's simple. common, but at least everyone can say it! |
| copprtop | posted 26-Apr-1998 7:53am I went through a period when I wanted to be named Daphne (I liked Scooby Doo and some novel by Daphne du Maurier |
| Mark | posted 5-May-1998 4:49pm I don't dislike my name, at least. It pretty much just is. |
| lelle | posted 6-May-1998 12:08pm It's fine... :) It's certainly a lot better than what my mother tells me she had =wanted= to name me: Petra Angelique. *laugh* |
| reality | posted 15-May-1998 7:59pm My real name is fairly uncommon (Vaughn, I won't say if that is first or last name though). I find it amusing when people don't understand when I say it because it isn't ordinary, then it'll click with them (like Moe Vaughn or Vaughn Monroe). other times they won't get it even if I spell it, and that is annoying. |
| anonymous | posted 15-Sep-1998 2:46am I have actually been to the point of obtaining name change forms. I no longer plan on changing my name because it has some meaning for me, and I do not ask people to call me anything else because it would be too much of an adjustment. But I really do wish my mother had chosen something better. |
| pandora | posted 3-Nov-1998 5:32pm sort of. |
| lizzie | posted 4-Dec-1998 12:19pm Well, my first name is OK because there's a huge choice of nicknames for it. My middle name sucks because it is a family name and it is boring. My last name is cool, and people always try to spell it the wrong way (Stuart instead of Stewart). |
| Biggles | posted 9-Aug-2006 1:11pm I think that's it's pretty insipid and doesn't suit me all that well. Other people have told me that it is a trustworthy name, but I still think that it's bland. Why couldn't my mother have called me "Biggles"? |
