Just to get it off my chest, as a person, I wanted to throw in this option "The 'Montsanto voyage through inner-space' (anyone want to trade Mary-Poppins for Mrs FigaLily)", but I was instantly reprimanded for considering life a joke. I suppose it's unfair for me to be flip here, while asking more of you. perhaps you can distinguish any tongue in cheek with a * wry smile * Let's rock.

What's better?
P.S. In case it isn't obvious, don't take 'church' to mean an established doctrine of any sort. Although you could bend 'arms' to mean the Hindi pantheon.

I chose the bingo sign since for so many people church seems to be little more than a place to socialize.

Oh right, it's a joke. OK, how about...
A machine called "The Soul Scrutinizer". ...or...
A slippery slope angled into the church such that once you slide down, it's impossible to get out. ...or...
A slippery slope angled away from the church such that you can't actually get into the church, ever.

Depends entirely on the flavor of house of worship. Things that belong in a Catholic church wouldn't belong in an Orthodox shul.

Great big gay pride and leather pride flags! I saw them yesterday (I think the 3' x 4' size) at the entrance to a Catholic church.

Can anybody answer a question? I know this is way off the topic, but has anybody ever heard of a pain killer by the name of "dilata"? The spelling may be off. I've been racking my brain trying to figure this out.

eris

That sounds right. Dilaudid is an opiate painkiller (related to morphine). See this reasonably informative webpage.

A door.

Why don't you ask the question you really want to ask instead of having everyone speak in metaphors? Something like:

Which of these statements might describe your opinion of organized religion/christianity?

Because that wasnt my question at all.
I started this memory with sweet layer cakes. Now im a fountain, with a recycling bin next door, working on a garden or teleporter. Those who go for the 'tear of mary' option are I suppose expressing an opinion on the way on their way to the bingo game. Just wanted sheol's vote. Question is 'Where should that door lead'?

Ah. Again, I am taking you too literally. Then perhaps the door should open into my soul. In practice, however, it seems to open into my stomach.

Exactly what I was worried about. You probably have an iron stomach.

posted 30-Jul-1999 2:29pm
Ah--but I don't. Though I was bred as a consumer (White American male, symbol of the "Oppressor"), I refuse to consume. Or maybe in so doing I more perfectly fill the role. Culturally speaking, there are things about our GAP/EddieBauer/Nike-defined society that I won't accept. Most of it, really. But then, socially speaking, the headstrong notion that I can observe and remained unaffected. It isn't true. I do not put on affects, but I am affected.

Almost never take me literally, when I intend to speak at that level I'll be logged-on as Kristal63. I may come in as Q_Tip as well, in which case I definitely intend to enter you ears on other space/time continuums. GAP-Nike is the iron stomach, but not quite the bin. Sounds like you're there, be, and you cant consume.

It's an HTML code that mean "non-breaking-space" nbsp It should start with an ampersand and end with a semi-colon. There are several useful ampersand/semi-colon HTML codes to give you various characters like trademarks symbols and such. KR used a b instead of a p and dropped the ; - I'm sure someone was touched on some high level of understanding by her mistakes. * winking raspberry *

I kind of like the golden gate idea. I'm not religious at all, but I love big, old churches. They make me feel very spiritual. The ones I visited in Ukraine were magnificant.
