Toughie. I don't consider myself an interesting person, at least not in a way that lets me easily come up with an answer to this question. I guess the most interesting thing about me is that I always (as in literally, always) combine humor and seriousness in every statement I make. Well, practically literally always. It makes me very difficult to understand, I understand. People are forever trying to decide whether or not to take me seriously when in fact the question doesn't make a lot of sense.

Well, I'm used to ever crappier weather. People think that Canada is all freezing, but summers are killing. You can't walk down the street because of all the humidity. If you open the door in summer, after the air-conditioned inside, it feels like sauna. Yet winters are crappy too. Too cold.

Do many people wear kilts?
Cain

It's a tad draughty here for kilts!!

At least you get some change though.

Biggles Silver Star Survey Creator

I've not seen it but I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Not too keen on Rob Lowe though - he was my least favourite actor in The West Wing (but no more!) Seems to be quite a trend for Americans to row here. There are 3 on my team but they're all only here for a term so we'll be short for the rest of the year.
Kristal_Rose Survey Central Gold Subscriber
(reply to Biggles) posted 31-Oct-2002 5:52pm
ooh, that does sound wet. Alright, my 1932 dictionary is lacking. What is a 'cox'? a steersman?
Biggles Silver Star Survey Creator
(reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 31-Oct-2002 5:59pm
Pretty much - a coxswain. They steer (but steering with a rudder is very limited, mostly it's done through the rowing) and tell the rowers what to do. Rowers aren't supposed to think for themselves - they just do exactly what the cox says. So the cox steers the boat through the rowers by instructing certain rowers on certain sides of the boat to do a certain number of strokes.
Kristal_Rose Survey Central Gold Subscriber
(reply to Biggles) posted 31-Oct-2002 6:37pm
So everyone thinks with their cox (who yells 'stroke stroke' or something), those in the middle doesn't have to manoever much, just do the power thing when things speed up, and everyone gets wet. Got it.
Biggles Silver Star Survey Creator
(reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 31-Oct-2002 9:16pm
Hmmm, funny I suppose * wry smile *

No-one got wet last time. It'd have to capsize for that to happen. Then we'd just drown since we're fastened to the boat.
