I don't have big breasts, but I still would not do it. I would think big ones would get annoying. Guys would be starring at them and I imagine they can be quite burdensome when doing active sports. I like the way I was made, and safe or not, I don't think I would do it. But it would not freak me out if I knew someone who did it. In fact I do know someone who has. It's a personal thing. Some feel that it would make them more feminine, and feel insecure about the way they look. If that's what would make them feel better about themselves, then who I am to discourage them. I just don't think one should go around broadcasting it to everyone.

I'm pretty happy with my body as is, myself, and I think it's sad that breast size is considered so important, but I'd certainly respect anyone's right to do what they like with their own body.

Whatever floats someones boat. Personally, I don't like the look of most breast jobs.

Maybe I'd consider it if I wasn't already burdened with the smallest back and the largest front I know. Maybe if I were a double A. Maybe if I had something to prove. Maybe if I wasn't seriously considering a reduction.

Male, Ewwww. No thanks. What's the point? To attract the creeps who are only attracted to women for their bodies? I don't think that would be the kind of attention I would want as a woman. Keep it natural (I like shaved legs though I'm afraid, so I'm one hell of a hypocrite).

It's probably better to see a psychologist before you see a surgeon, beauty really does come from inside. Be sure you're doing it truly for yourself (and not for a man, or men, or to be "normal"). As a man, I do notice breats that are better looking than others, but the closer I get to them the less I notice.

I wouldn't do it if someone paid me, and I'd be sad for the person who'd had it done. Having a big top is definately not all it's cracks up to be, there are major hassles and problems because of it (neck and back strain, finding a bra that works, etc. Even more importatnly it's riduculous to do things like that to show off your body, you should be happy with what G-d gave you.

I really think there's something wrong with our society that we make some women feel like the size & shape of their bodies is so wrong/unattractive that they have to get cut up in order to be sexy. Then again, I'm fairly well-endowed naturally, so maybe I just can't understand.

No matter how safe, I can't imagine having some yukky foreign substance inside my body. Obviously the whole procedure was thought up by men. And mostly because they would like some enhancement themselves. I suppose women in some entertainment industries might find it alright, but for other women, I'd have to say it indicates low self esteem. If only there was such a thing as an iq enhancer.

you still wouldn't be able to breast feed your children. I used to think about it though

As a gay man, I neither have an opinion on this nor have standing to have an opinion. I will say, though, that "the normal risks of surgery" aren't really taken as seriously as I think they should be. Any time you put someone under, there's a real chance they won't wake up, and I would discourage anyone that I liked from doing that for purely cosmetic reasons. (But on the third hand, given how strongly one's body image can affect one's psyche, is anything "purely cosmetic"?) **Jen, honey, if you were any better-looking you would cause frequent traffic accidents. Jeez, girl! **milktree--interesting; I thought I was only thinking about it that way because it seemed obvious that one would only want to have it done if one thought that it would improve one's appearance; now I wonder.

That's were that extra money Bill Clinton found in our economy should go: breast enlargements. Now that something the president could really sink his teeth into.

Reduction if they are painful I can understand. But enlargement is just vanity. I wouldn't trust no flimsy gel-filled sacks in my body.

I believe that the only reason why a woman would do it would be to attract men. Sure, first impressions count, but shouldn't the guy look at your face, not your chest size? And personality is more important than both of those anyway.

i think it is not necessary and i must feel sorry for the woman who has them

Breast surgery isn't fundamentally different than a nose job or braces for cosmetic reasons. If it makes you feel better, go for it. ** addition ** I think it's interesting that steve said "if you were any better looking..." with respect to breast enlargement. It confirms his previous statement body image and psyche. Is any cosmetic surgery really only cosmetic?

I don't need it, I like mine just fine thank you. Dolemite: yeah, I think Bill might look cute with larger breasts.

Would not freak me if I knew someone who did, but it isn't necessary. I do believe a woman should not feel necessary to change her body in that manner. All women are beautiful.

Seems a little silly, like penis enlargement. If it'll make your life happier, go for it...

There doesn't seem to be an option about, would it freak you if someone did it. No it would not freak me, unless it was a guy who wasn't planning a gender change; then I would be worried. I'm a male and hence a pig, so you have to under stand this.

HAH! Okay, I wouldn't really undergo surgery for anything cosmetic. But considering I can be medically approved for breast reduction surgery right now, I certainly wouldn't have them increased... :)

False gene pool advertising. ***Joe - you can't make someone feel bad without their permission.

*seven: I think you can. by this I mean it is not necessarily conscious decision. basically if you believe the fads, or take what society dictates rather than thinking for yourself you don't decide(or give permission), but then again, maybe not saying no is an acceptance. hmmm. or maybe I am not quite getting what you mean by permission. do you mean basically, if you have an emotional investment in anything, you are giving permission (or not) to be affected by the actions of others?

No. My breasts are the right size for my body frame. If they were larger, I'd probably end up with shoulder & back pain.
