| mikehunt696 | posted 9-Sep-2002 2:33am I just set it to defrag before I go to bed. Why would anybody watch this? If they do then they really need to get a life! |
| NthenSome | (reply to mikehunt696) posted 9-Sep-2002 3:39am Hey - anything in moderation, Mr. Judgementalizerpants! I see nothing wrong with a few hours of frag-focus. I find it enlightening to defrag-daze myself from time to time. To each his own pitiful, meaningless life is what I say... |

| Kristal_Rose | (reply to NthenSome) posted 9-Sep-2002 4:45am Speaking of which, I'm digging through a cassette looking for some recording space and what I'm hearing is the most atrocious piano I've heard in my life (by me of course). Just as I was about to do a test to see if my miraculous guitar playing plaed along with music sounds as bad the music not played along to something. |

| Kristal_Rose | (reply to NthenSome) posted 10-Sep-2002 5:23pm It's still a mystery. My batteries died a moment later. It seems so weird that I can play awesome one second and drown flailing a moment later. Say, are their any stashes of old paramount paraphernalia hanging around, particularly viewmaster movie preview reels? |
| NthenSome | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 10-Sep-2002 10:42pm I just brought a single page home to a book - an entire book - full of hand-written logs (originally the call-sheets). The page I brought home just to show people is the oldest - 1919. There are people on these lists dating back to Harry Houdini, Clara Bowe, CB Demille...a handwritten log of every movie shot on this lot, dating back to 1919! The Head of Features, when he took over that office in 1991, was asked by the assistant, "What should I do with this book?" He responded by saying to throw it away! Thank God he didn't. I think we should see to it that Paramount keeps this book safe somewhere. But I intend to copy off each page, if that interests you at all. Other than that, I really don't have anything. We have some lights in Set Lighting that are still marked 'Desilu' - I think I told you when you were here. We still rent the damn things! I also have some very old pictures of Clark Gable, Ann-Margret and a few others. Frames are kind of cool too. You want 'em? I'll hand-deliver these, if that's the case. (Twice, I've had about 50 movie posters sent overnight to Confetti. She insists there is no Postal Code, but Airborne keeps refusing the shipment.) Yeah, I'll hand-deliver those if you want. Don't want these lost in any mail. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to NthenSome) posted 11-Sep-2002 4:45am I'd love the original, but also agree it belongs there. and somehow a copy doesn't seem like it would do anything for me. I'd absolutely love posters though. Frames? Qu-est ce que c'est Frames? Tiny momentos heavily representative, or graphical things. I was picking through movie stills at my friends antique store and fell in love with one still of the cameras shooting a pirate battle probably out at torrance. We still need to get together. Correspondence with confetti too; you are busy. |
| NthenSome | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 11-Sep-2002 7:26am I also have about a trillion original scripts for you to rummage through. I asked about the situation of keeping them if had first I thrown them away after reading them, then pulling them out of the trash. (Public domain at that point, see.) No one can give a solid answer. You might want to at least see that book I'm talking about. It's mind-blowing. I'll be at the studio this weekend. If you want to drop in, you know you're welcome. It would be great to see you again, chat over some coffee. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to NthenSome) posted 11-Sep-2002 11:07pm I'd like. I do have scripts I'm seeking, esp. the 1953 'Insignificance' about einstein meeting monroe. This weekend? sure, i'll plan on it. I just had a third bicycle calamity trying to make it to my theater class today and no word on whethar it's a sign not to participate, or just an obstacle. |
| NthenSome | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 14-Sep-2002 4:52am I will be in tomorrow, which might be a better day to meet, I'm not sure. I can't wait to show you that (historic) book! Plus, I'll let you thumb through some scripts I've got there. You can put aside those that interest you, but I'll have to keep them there and ask about finally and truly giving them out. It's probably ok, but, like I said, I've been given a hesitant "sure, ok" here-and-there, but it's never been definite enough to have me feel comfortable about it. Paramount's weird about that kind of stuff. I'm trying to get them to donate the hundreds of computers we're changing over to the needy school right across the street, but they won't..."because corporations can't locate a data wiping company that guarantees that all the data will be wiped clean from the old drives". (My point is who cares? What kind of "national interest" is at stake with things like 'Lassie, the Movie'? And what could be so "classified" about 'Bosom Buddies, Episode 92'? Ha!) So I don't give you the wrong impression, though...the company and Viacom do many things for that school. The President of the Studio himself started the Mentor Program by way of that establishment, and we also donate a hefty amount to them every Christmas, so... So...tomorrow, if you want. I'll have a main gate pass called in for you, starting at about 9am. "Kristal Rose Productions", like before. It'll be great to see you again! I'll have the coffee on! I'll only be able to spare about 1/2 hour-to-45 mins, unfortunately. If you need (or would prefer) more time than that to visit, Sunday is a better day - just that a more specific starting time with Sunday is needed - after 4:00pm. I'd be free for a good while that day, at that time. Either way - just let me know. I'll call in a pass for both days, but let me know before you show by calling me there at the lot. Again - either day, and I can't wait to have a sip-n-chat! [Spellcheck reminds me again that "wierd" is spelled "weird" and "gaurantees" is properly spelled "guarantees". It's weird how those same two words are guaranteed to be erred when I spell them.] |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to NthenSome) posted 14-Sep-2002 6:03am I just got a Lassie viewmaster reel today, & 20000 leagues beneath the sea, & voyage to the bottom of the sea, and a peanuts. There was a reel where Lucy battered Schroeder's Beethoven statue and he just pulled out another of so many from his closet to put back on the piano. It gave me some insight into just what kept kept Schultz going. I've got to replace derraileur when I wake up (around noon), so it'd be around 3pm. How are they about taking stereo photos of 'the village'? Sunday's sounding much better, given your specs. guaranteed - think gwaranteed, or guavas. WEird - if you're the only one around, who's to call it weird? meanwhile, thanks to nsome, 4th graders are learning about stage techniques to simulate moon buggies in low gravity, and creating security problems, flocking to the covertly marked grave of lassie(s) in the adjacent graveyard. 'Lamed-Aleph-Samech-Samech-Ayin'. |
