I think in cases of terminal illness, when conventional medicine has no answer, then most any alternative treatments could and should be tried - providing these wouldn't prolong or increase a patient's suffering, and depending on the financial costs, I suppose. I hate the way food manufacturers have the nerve to label foods that never, ever had high fat (or even high calorie) content as low-fat. It drives me nuts.
