#CommentSurvey
11This is an important issue, certainly a cause for argument & anxiety. But I think the answer options provided are going in two or three directions at once: you are splitting both on time and on relationship milestones (e.g. love). Better to choose one at a time. See my 2000 survey http://surveycentral.org/survey/6532.htmlYou are going on a date with someone that you really like, chances are you will have sex with them.
12I use it for both. When I started seriously dating, I focused on finding "the one": my future wife. Over time I saw the value of using dating to get to know myself better (i.e. figure out what I'm looking for). This gives me more practice in relationships and hence more confidence in my decisions (e.g. "is she the one?"). And along the way you can have a lot of fun. Finding a spouse is still my top goal, however.Do you feel that dating is just for fun or to find a spouse?
13I've listed long-term girlfriends & wife below, all hetero:
1. Ages 25 (me) and 24 when we met. Went out for 1.5 years but never moved in together. Fun.
2. Ages 27 and 34 when we met. We went out for about 1 year intermittently but never moved in together. Fun.
3. Ages 32 and 32 when we met. We started living together 1.5 years later when we married. Divorce 10 years after that. Had kids, but other than that, a mistake.
4. Ages 44 and 47 when we met. We went out for 3 years but never moved in together. Postponement of cohabitation was a sign that the relationship was in trouble. We could have resolved it quicker if we had spent more time together each week.
How long after you began dating your significant other did you move in together? For this survey I would ask that you please include each person's age and sexual preference.
14I probably don't attend to my appearance as much as I should. Are you vain when it comes to your appearance?
15I watched Kevorkian do doctor-assisted suicide on 60 minutes a few years ago. We can watch murders and all sorts of other violence on TV every night if we want -- what's the big deal? (not that it's good, but this sort of thing is already all around us) Do you think you'd be able to watch a public execution on live television?
16"economically challenged"??? Do you mean "poor"?Should economically challenged people be given a scholarship to help their children finish High School?
17salesman, telemarketer, waiter, assembly-line workerWhat profession would you never want to try?
18To mandy & Jemmy: I'd say you could HOPE that someone will change, and you could try to change them, but you're often doomed to failure if you EXPECT them to change. If you ever had a relationship partner you hoped would change, did that not happen?
19Thought it was absolutely hilarious when I was a teenager; last time I saw it I found all the fart jokes very juvenile! How many times have you seen the Mel Brooks film "Blazing Saddles"?
20Yes, inadvertently started a small smoldering fire in my parent's back yard with a magnifying glass. Fortunately we noticed it an hour later before it broke into flame and spread!Have you ever lit a fire without matches?
