Only one ear, although I've entertained the idea of the other ear and one or both nipples.. | What body parts do you have pierced?
Rt.87, NY Thruway, just north of the toll plaza off I90. There was a car that looked like it was having a nuclear meltdown. Not only flames and smoke visible for miles, but *molten* dripping bits of metal from the engine onto the pavement.. once I realized no one was hurt, it was cool.. | What is the most interesting thing you have ever seen catch on fire?
Got an account early on, but only started really paying attention a couple months ago.. | How long have you been an SC user?
I like houseplants, but I *suck* at taking care of them.. Hmm, anyone want a job as a house servant? :) | Do you have houseplants?
Good question, but I really have no idea. My parents never were particularly strict. I suspect it was fairly young. *X* on the other hand, I didn't see until probably my early 20s. Probably somewhat sheltered in that respect. | How old were you when you saw your first R rated movie?
A simple question, and a complicated answer. My mother passed away, so it would be 'parent', for me. As for my father, he's a well meaning, generally nice, and actually quite interesting man, but we are so disconnected that I've seen him once in 10 years. Wow.. The one time I did visit him, a couple of years ago, we had quite a pleasant visit. | Do you like visiting your parent(s)?
What does *Elian* want? All these fudging people have vested interests in him; his father, his aunts, Janet Reno.. I mean christ, this kid has got to have some serious problems; his mom died on a boat, and now he's being pulled in all directions. Is his father a good father? Was the wife leaving because of him or of political views? If the father isn't violent, I'd say send him home.. | Should Elian be sent home?
This whole thing just scares me. We are definately in a very hard place with regards to this issue. Our relations with China are at an all time low, and yet, I believe we support the Taiwanese government in principle as a sovereign state (or should be). To support China is to tell Taiwan, and the world, that we don't believe what we preach. Yet, to support Taiwan, might surely start another cold war; between the US and China. I hadn't thought of the option listed above, having the UN support Taiwan, but not led by the US. We lead so many UN actions, that it almost seems natural. Personally, I think if that option can be managed, it will be the best for us, but from what I have seen, the UN rarely goes to action on its own without significant US involvement and leadership. Economic sanctions? I support the principle as a less violent means to coerce governments against unjust action. But do they really work? I've never been convinced. Sadly.. Good survey question. | If China attacks Taiwan, should the US/UN enter the fray?
