I don't remember. | How old were you when you first went to a movie, concert, and/or shopping by yourself without family along?
Given their history, I'm happy with Japan not having aggressive capabilities. I'd be even happier if they voluntarily and explicitly ratified the current arrangement. | Should Japan be allowed to have more than a defense force?
So much of this is learned it's hard to call it intelligence. | What kinds of intelligence do you have?
Many of these (like health records and salaries) I don't think the government should even have access to. I marked all of those. I interpreted "details of security investigations" to mean the findings, not the fact that those people are being investigated. | Which of the following should the State be allowed to keep secret from it's citizens?
I love all the options except for the first. Enforcing contracts has little to do with providing a common currency. This should not be sorted, since the options are already logically ordered. Sorting will make it hard to see the trends. | Which of the following should the State have the moral responsibility to regulate?
jgg: That's a nice summary of how currencies are useful in contracts, but it's a weak argument that in order to enforce contracts a government must mandate a standard currency. This really isn't important though. | Which of the following should the State have the moral responsibility to regulate?
jgg: You are arguing that it's good to have a standard currency. I haven't disagreed with that; it's not my point. I stated that the question of whether the government should issue or certify a standard currency is independent of whether they should enforce contracts. You and I can agree to exchange whatever we like, and enforcing that contract does not depend on there being (or us using) a currency recognized by anyone outside the contract. If your first comment wasn't in reply to mine, then I started an amusing scene of two people arguing near, but not with each other. :) | Which of the following should the State have the moral responsibility to regulate?
There go our hopes for broader demographics. | If you had a choice to change your age, would you become younger, older or remain the same ?
One of the options is self-contradictory: "rule of law is a service, but for some reason, two people chose it anyway. I'm curious about why they agreed with it. Some notes on sales tax: It doesn't have to impact poorer people as much as it does richer. One way to do this is to not tax necessities. This system is employed by many US states. People actually interested in the topic may want to read some of CATO's publications on it. | Which statement best describes your attitude towards taxes?
