slashdot | Other than Survey Central, what is the first site you visit when you get on the Internet that is not work related? What is so special about that site?
Hong Kong | What country is your favorite foreign film from?
You forgot voice. | What musical instruments can you play fairly well? And how did you learn to play them?
The bible is definitely the strangest book/series I've read. | What is the strangest book you have read?
whenever it's long enough to comb | How often do you get a haircut?
Easy to answer, as I'm the only employee. | Are you treated fairly at work (school) by your supervisors (teachers)?
2^n or 2^n-1 always catches my eye, for any n < 16 or so. | Number Patterns
I have both male and female friends who I'm close to. I enjoy having friends with different personalities and perspectives. My life would be too bland if I only had friends of one gender. | How do you feel about guys and girls being "just friends"?
I don't trust the anonymity here, which is why I don't use a pseudonym or comment anonymously. I want to remind myself by using my own name that I am accountable for what I say. If I'm not comfortable with people knowing I said something, I don't say it. It would be nice sometimes to have the freedom of anonymity here (or anywhere), but if you think that clicking "anonymous" is enough to ensure that something can never get back to, you're not paranoid enough. (This is not a reflection on Bill. Other people could determine identities too.) | So, how do you really feel about anonymous commenting and survey creating?
I agree that complete ownership of land without prior compensation to the community is unreasonable, but I disagree with the assumption that this exists in many countries. In the US at least, we only own certain rights to the land -- exclusive rights to build, farm, drill, mine, log, reside, etc. We pay rent in the form of property tax. I think many people don't understand this, and this misunderstanding causes a lot of conflict. | Do you think annual rents for land could replace all forms of taxation?
