I suppose thinking I'm male is not necessarily snotty -- she could just be very unobservant. Very, very, VERY unobservant, considering how long she's been here, and considering that we've even exchanged a bit of email say a year ago which included my real name, which is clearly female. So, topper, now that you found out I'm a "girl", you can't seek to convey your opinion as more legitimate because you're female. Guess you'll have to try some other tack. Meanwhile, I've decided I'd like to become a cat. I'm going to paste some whiskers on my face and meow, and that will magically transform me into a feline. | Are you a man or a woman?
How ironic that you claim to have room for every view in your head, but not the perspective that you cannot be a real woman. Also how interesting that you think you understand my position on everything and my being in toto, while warning me that I cannot possibly understand the great and complex you. I would have some sympathy for your past suicidal feelings if they weren't wrapped in layers of insult and hypocrisy. You've expressed your opinions on this (transgender) matter countless times, but I guess it was an error in judgement on my part to think I could express mine even once without the resulting tirade. You have failed to psychically download me, rather you are responding to what you know of me on this site, just like a regular human being. I completely understand why I would come off as male to someone who hadn't, like topper, received an email from me with my real name (!!), but the anger that produces that perception is only one part of me. Again, how ironic that you don't see that. Oh well, at least your response was not predictable. I don't see any political correctness in it, thank god. Since I'm feeling particularly generous tonight, I'll agree to accept that you have the mind of a woman if you agree that I have now taken on the mind of a kitty-kat. Or better yet, a lovebird. | Are you a man or a woman?
I'm glad I read your post in the forum regarding your possible anorexia and bulimia, because that sheds a particular light, I think, on why you might admire someone not giving a fudge right now... I think one of the feelings behind those eating disorders is often that one feels obliged to please others or fulfill societal roles set out for one. There also can be a sense of anger about that, and a feeling of "fine, if society says I have to be thin, then I'll be really really really thin". You could actually look at it in a positive light in that the person with anorexia insists on retaining some control and exercising their own will, albeit in a destructive way. I'm afraid I don't have any particular advice about how to beat it, though, other than exploring your feelings with a therapist and on your own, maybe through journaling, or, um, come to think of it, writing and answering surveys... I've been on this site for years, and I've stopped fighting my addiction, so there's no danger (or promise, depending on your viewpoint) of me leaving... | Are you a man or a woman?
It seems quite strange that topper would not remember email about possibly commissioning her to do a logo. I don't disrespect Kristal's decision to live as she does, just the concept that this makes her a woman. I don't agree with the premise that a nice person must respect anyone's decision to do anything as long as it "feels right". I urge you to filter me if you have a problem with my comments. | Are you a man or a woman?
You claim that you intend to filter me, so perhaps you will not see this, but here is my response: First, I rarely use the "anonymous" feature. If I was an "anonymous" user, I would not have made what I knew were inflammatory comments to Kristal Rose under my handle. Second, I have had my current handle for years (not sure exactly how long). It's the third one I've had. I think it's ironic that you would take someone to task for having changed handles, considering that you've changed yours as well. I have never used handles concurrently, either. You've expressed your annoyance at my comments on many occasions previously, this is certainly not the first time you've "gotten it out of your system". My assessment of you is about the same as yours of me, but I wouldn't know how to email you even if I wanted to, so you have nothing to worry about on that count. | Are you a man or a woman?
Sadly, I have not been able to morph into a lovebird (yet -- I'm still trying!). If I am able to become one, I'd already have a natural flock to join, so I'm afraid I have to decline your invitation. I love lovebirds, too. I have one especially incredible one now who actually likes to be petted. She has all the spunk of your average lovebird, plus the cuddliness of a lapdog. | Are you a man or a woman?
Prostitution should be legal; pimping should not. | Do you think prostitution should be made legal worldwide?
I would listen to what they had to say, without trying to pressure them to take any particular course of action. I would attempt to stay with them, or to have a friend stay with them, at all times. I would respect their privacy absolutely, and would not contact the police or a shrink without their consent. | What would you do if a friend told you in confidence that they were planning to kill themselves?
It's offensive not because partially naked body parts are shown, but because of whose partially naked body parts are shown -- exclusively women, exclusively those who follow an extremely narrow and often unnatural definition of "beauty". | Do you think the website http://www.aeolia.net/legs/legs.htm is offensive in any way?
