I'm all over the board. It's impossible to say, because it also works on an ANIMAL BY ANIMAL basis. Killing a moose for food and fur is fine. Killing my cat for the same reason - over my dead body! (Though my cats would make GREAT slippers!) | What is your stance on "animal rights"?
Seven, cute doesn't enter into it. I think Moose are cute! And I eat them. Seals are cute, but I'm a HUGE supporter of the seal hunt. Because I came from Newfoundland where it's done yearly and is an essential part of the livelihood and economy. It's a safe, harmless, and highly useful hunt No parts are left behind. We know how to hunt like in the old times. Efficiently, without cruelty, and using all parts of the animal. Greenpeace has used every propaganda trick in the book to make them money, and they invented a few more, I can list them off for you, but I haven't got the time it would take! They're cute, sure, but not endangered, nor treated cruelly when hunted. All propaganda. Seal meat is very dark, though, so I don't eat it much. Very rich! Moose is better, when cooked by my mother-in-law. She's an expert! I love otters, I'd never harm one. No practical purpose behind it. Same with beavers. Or lizards. Or crocodiles. Cute is not the issue. However, I've eaten rabbits. Not fond of them, so I don't any more. | What is your stance on "animal rights"?
I chose 18 because if you can vote, and fight and die for your country, you deserve a drink! Hell, you may even NEED a drink! (Although I think that that should be the OLDEST limit. Younger is good, provided there is parental involvement, and no excess is encouraged. Teach the children to drink responsibly at a young age, and they'll probably do it at a later age. Make a "dark mystery" of it, and of course they're going to over-indulge. | What do you think should be the legal minimum age for people to start drinking?
Objects have a longer lasting value. Experiences are cool, but harder to lock down. Owning something is a permanent memory of whatever it was that made you feel good about that object. That's why we take photos of trips... as a tangible focus of our memory from a great experience. At this point in my life, I'd say an object, and I think I know which one... | Would you choose an experience or an object?
I used to be terrified of fire. Being trapped in a burning building. I don't have many fears these days. Losing a loved one, I've done. Lost both my grandparents (who raised me) within a span of a year or so in the late 80s. I've been through two life-threatening car wrecks where no one was permanently hurt (Yay seatbelts! - SERIOUSLY!) So I'm not even afraid of car accidents now. But now that I have a kid, the though of losing her is the worst thing I can think of. No thanks. | Is there something you're terrified of?
Well I'd previously read my name (being an alternate of JOHN) means "beloved of God", but this site above claims it's "The Lord has favored". Neither of which is correct as far as I can tell.. I'm an athiest, so I doubt I'm either beloved of, or favored by, God. If she exists. Which she doesn't. | Does your personality reflect the meaning of your given name?
Not sure. I'm married, so this doesn't happen all too often. When I get a crush on a person these days (hey, yeah, it still happens even though you're married - Married Not Dead is my slogan) I just don't tell her. Usually they can figure it out, though, by the kind of attention paid, and the body language used. | How would you tell a friend that you have/had a crush on him/her?
However, I DO dislike search sites or other link sites that keep THEIR frame up while you go to ANOTHER site... that's bad design. And to those who complain it's harder to bookmark info, just right-click on any link, and open in a new window, and you should get the correct address in THAT window. Bookmark that. | How do you feel about frames?
Couldn't care less about fame, and money IS power, so Rich will do, thank you. (Had enough of fame.) | Given a choice, which would you rather be: famous, rich, or powerful?
Geniuses are often called mad because they don't operate within the normal rules. Hey, that's what MAKES them genius. Or at least if you tried to confine genius into the "norm" you'd ruin it. And sadly, too often, people are considered "mad" because they operate outside the normal rules, but do NOT benefit mankind in some way, so they're just carted off to the rubber room. Sad, but true. | Do you think genius and madness go hand in hand?
