It's that mother-daughter thing. Let me tell you, I asked my thirteen year old daughter what she planned to eat for dinner since she had evening plans that started before our family dinner time ... and she rolled her eyes and huffed and generally made it clear that I had completely trespassed all over her personal autonomy and how *could* she have been burdened with a person who was just so *annoying* in her life. Have I ever felt like that about my mother? Am I breathing? | Does your mother annoy you?
I have way too much clutter, but I am not a packrat. I can and do throw stuff out. | Are you a human packrat?
Don't know exactly what it would be but I have been reading fiction lately. | You just walked into your local library...
How many thousands would be a more interesting thing to try to guess. I would not be surprised if there are 8,000 books in this house. | How many books do you own?
Too many books! | How many books do you own?
I hope I'll get to relax a bit, but there is so much undone this week... I need two weekends to catch up. | What are you looking forward to doing this weekend?
I know I'd have trouble distinguishing small song birds but many of these are pretty distinctive. | Of these birds, which would you recognize if you saw one?
I remember hearing about John Lennon. I was less than two when JFK was assassinated, I have no memories of it. I knew something important had happened when King was assassinated, but I really had no idea what was going on, and I don't have that specific "where was I when I heard" memory. The rest of these just weren't that important to me. Strangely enough, when I heard that Jerry Garcia died, I was shocked and in tears -- and I never even considered myself much of a Grateful Dead fan. Another death that I will always remember hearing about was Yitzchak Rabin's assassination. | Do you remember the moment when you first heard that .......... died?
Oh yes, the space shuttle explosion is a vivid memory. I was at work, we all stopped what we were doing and put a TV in the common space and watched what was going on. Everyone was in shock. | Do you remember the moment when you first heard that .......... died?
Oh I get so soggy at weddings... and other times too, it happens. | Have you ever cried because of happiness?
