#CommentSurvey
151I've noticed a few occasions when I've wanted to discuss a survey further, but the format of this site (while excellent) is not really conducive to back-and-forth exchanges. For example, my comments and responses in the porno movie survey are beginning to get a bit unwieldy. On a Survey Central newsgroup, we could thread the topic to death. My only concerns are that it would be used *instead* of the website, and that users without Usenet access would be left out.

By the way, notice I avoided using "access" as a verb in this survey? * wink *

***Atzilut & Bill: yes, a web-based message board would be even better. Perhaps something where, on the survey response page there would be a button that sends you to a message board for that specific survey. The posts could be listed in the order they were received, with a comment box at the bottom. This would eliminate the need for any heavy-duty threading code, as each survey would be separate from the others. Of course, I have no clue as to the ease/difficulty/complications of doing it this way, but it sounds good * wink *

***Atzilut: Yes, dejanews does carry the alt.* hierarchy.

Would you make use of a Survey Central newsgroup if one were established?
152Wow, are there really 250 registered users on SC? I haven't seen a survey with more than about 30 respondents.

***daver: A factual error? Do tell...

What do you think of the recent Survey Central write-up in the New York Times?
153The school bus stops about twenty times on my street, quite often within visual range of the previous stop. *Highly* irritating when you've got somewhere to be (and if you're in your car, chances are that's the case.) When I was a kid (oh here we go) I had to walk like 1/4 mile to the bus stop, rain or shine. And I'm not dead! There are kids on my street who literally get picked up and dropped off at the foot of their driveway...what the f**k? And you know who I blame? Uh...I'm not sure but whoever they are, they suck!School Buses...what's the deal????
154"Dig me, but don't bury me" [my reply to another user deleted due to the fact that the user deleted the thing I replied to and I didn't want to look stupid. Doh!]What would you want as your epitaph (on your tombstone or equivalent)?
155A few people have been sucked in pretty deep I guess, but I don't think it's nearly to the point where it could be called an "opiate of the masses". Plus, the interactivity and global communications aspects raise the medium well above the zombifying boob tube on the respectability scale.Television was once called "The opiate of the masses". Do you feel that computers or the Internet are the new "opiate of the masses" ?
156Every time I have ever been involved with a Oiuja board and it actually moved, I knew right away, with absolute certainty, who was moving it. Also, answering yes to this question requires also answering yes to a few other questions which I find utterly preposterous, so for that reason alone I'd lean towards no, but in addition my numerous experiences have led me to totally discount them. They are only successful when someone in the group is in the mood to f**k with people's heads.

**Bill: that's awesome! I'm so proud...

***ron2112smom: are you going to make me regret telling you about this place? * wink *

Do Ouija boards work?
157Yes, I bought a Michael Jackson album, but it was "Off the Wall" so somebody back me up on this one. As for the leather tie, I went one step further: it was a white leather tie with a piano keyboard running down it. Yeeesshh! By the way, you forgot "Beanie Babies" and tomagotchis, neither of which I've bought (for myself).Have you ever purchased....
158Okay, I admit it...I never completed my degree at NHTI. (sob) I know it's on my resume but (sob) I never took the (sob) Finite Math class and who on god's green earth can blame me? And I used to tell the kids on the bus in third grade what it meant to "pop a cherry" although I was totally wrong and completely full of crap. Would you believe it, I actually had the "girl I met at Niagara Falls" story...but this was before it was cliche, or at least before we knew it was cliche. Oh, and I also used to tell my friends (this is like the 3rd grade here so cut me some slack) that I was born on a cruise ship in international waters and that I was close personal friends with Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley. Ahhh...I feel better now.Have you ever deliberately lied....
159I not sure if I'm secure enough to answer the "hottest guy" question, but I suppose if a gun were held to my head I'd pick Sisko. Troi, however, is a lock in the female category, although I do find the idea of a woman you can't lie to a bit intimidating. Close one between Khan and Gul Dukat; Dukat's been developed more, but how can you get through STII and not be blown away by Ricardo Montalban? "I've done far worse than kill you...I've hurt you...and I wish to go on...hurting you..." Too cool. Especially when contrasted with Shatner's head-trembly face-contorty reply: "KHAAAAN!!!"Star Trek and its various permutations...
160I'm not expecting much more than a 2-hour X-Files episode in 1.85:1 aspect ratio, but who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. Will you go see the new X-Files movie? (check all that are consistent and apply)
