The only time the nosing out works is if they have nosed out so far that I would have to let them out or hit them, which essentially means they have pulled in front of me anyways. When there are people waiting to turn onto the same road as you, what will make you more likely to let them in.
actually I use the first four interchangably. what do you call those things that you turn on before making a turn?
humanity has made a steady, and recently a burst of, progression that seems to be natural and logical. of course, what we think of impossible and far-fetched now will seem natural and logical in a century or two as well. Basically we have vastly increased our ability to kill one another, and our ability to communicate. there haven't been any great strides for humanity, only better technology. humans now, are like humans were a hundred years ago, like they were 500 years ago etc, etc. We haven't used our newfound ability to communicate for anything resembling a new culture, or understanding of one another. it seems to be moving in that direction (sort of). here's hoping for the future. if humans can be taught(or made) to think differently, that would be great. for the most part, we haven't made it past the playground in maturity. humans are too caught up in the here and now to think of the past and learn from it, or look the the future and make sure we are ready for it (or that it will be there at all for the next generation). What do you think is humanity's greatest achievement of the 20th century?
I haven't been to the dentist in years. I don't recall how long. I used to go for regular checkups, and I even have dental insurance through work, but don't use it. How often do you visit the dentist? (Emergency visits do not count.)
after some thought, I realized I had one friend who had a drinking problem, his dad was an alcoholic. To my knowledge, the problem has been pretty much beaten since he got married. I went to school with people who died in accidents related to drinking, but I didn't know any of them well, or consider them friends. Alcoholism. If you check any of the first 16 options, please comment.
I don't currently feel an obligation to get into community service here in MA. I do donate to charity ( a bit) partly because I like helping people and partly due to a sense that if I have it to spare, I should.Charity/Community Service
This needs to be defined better. If everybody's mind was open to public viewing, that would be a bad thing, if it were simply 'talking' it'd be fine. then again, you would need to be able to turn the ability on and off, otherwise popular people would be dealing with a cacaphony of everyone who wants to talk to them. the best way would be the equivilent of everyone in the world having a cell phone, and everyone having a phone book with no unlisted number and caller ID.Would linking all human minds together (such that direct non-verbal communication would be instantaneous with anyone on the planet) be a good thing or a bad thing?
I am wastefulWhen brushing your teeth do you...
moderately well rounded. some I could attempt, but the result wouldn't be worth it. **mute: Heinlein was a product of his times. he was jingoistic, but that is kind of to be expected. a lot of his focus was on self reliance. basically, you should be capable of doing anything that is needed, you shouldn't count on others doing it for you. it is a decent attitude, but he carried it to extremes at times. **Daver- I thought it meant male oriented and warlike... Webster's says "extreme chauvinism or nationalism marked especially by a belligerent foreign policy", very similar. it is true of Heinlein, just not in the way I was using it. Are you a well rounded individual? (From a quote by Robert Heinlein)
Full senses! I have color, sound, smell and touch ( I really can say taste for sure or not.. none that come to mind). I LOVE dreaming, it is much more interesting than life. The only annoying thing is when I exprience something in a dream before experiencing it in real life for the first time (and it is exactly the same).
*pandora: some of us like dreams more than reality....
Do you dream in color or black and white?
