| 1 | I think it's ludicrous and hypocritical that marijuana is illegal, while cigarettes and alcohol are legal. I think hallucinogens are cool and mostly harmless. I dunno about heroin and cocaine and such, but I lean towards the idea that ingesting substances into your own body should be your own gosh darn business, and that the government should only step in when you actually cause harm to others. Maybe taking some drugs does result fairly regularly in causing harm to others, but I still don't know about regulating them at all (regulation leads down a slippery slope, even with the best of intentions). If we are going to regulate them, it should be on a more local level, so that communities can implement their own values. And even if I believed illegal drugs are bad, period, the way we go about trying to stop them, by focusing on the supply rather than the demand, is pointless. | Do you support the "War on Drugs?" |
