They had fired (erm, "laid off") all of the people who would use them, and had already returned all of the other equipment those people would have used (which was all leased-- go figure), and this multimeter was just lying around and had already been paid for/written off. So, I figured I could use it more than some lame PC-clone company driving itself into the ground, and wandered off with it when I quit. But I wouldn't suggest doing this if you're any more moral than I. But this company, which had already screwed over quite a lot of people I considered friends?
