4117 is the perfect amount for me most of the time. 8 makes me groggy, 6 is not enough for general purposes, but given my natural tendency, I will wake about 7 hours after I went to bed, feeling refreshed and alert. How many hours do you usually sleep each night?
412Sleep needs vary per person, and my poor sister needs at least 9 hours a night to feel good, as does my best friend. I think it's very important to re-arrange your life and your priorities to respect and uphold your body's natural rhythmic requirements. No one can function well or be happy when they are going against their nature. Thus, a problem: my husband is a night owl, and I like to rise at dawn or slightly before, or around 5 a.m. By 10 p.m., I'm ready for sleep! I sometimes wish my husband was a baker or a carpenter, so he would be an early riser too, but he's a network technician, and often works late hours. It's an aggravation that affects our mealtimes, our marriage, everything. I have tried to adapt to his schedule, and I can, but it always makes me feel groggy, dull, and unhappy. How many hours do you usually sleep each night?
413I usually tip 15% standard. If the service was excellent, more, if it was substandard, less, and if it was awful, no tip. I wish the whole T.I.P. idea had never been started! It stands for To Insure Promptitude, and the idea that a waiter or server will be slow, sullen, or otherwise neglectful unless you tip them is preposterous. I would rather they get paid their hourly wage in full, and there be no such thing as tips, because being prompt and giving good service is supposed to be part of the job, and they should be paid to do that by the employer, whilst the customer pays the establishment for services rendered. Thus, there would be no such thing as job paying $2.75 per hour plus tips, and waitresses would not have to worry about how big their breasts are or how appealing they are to male customers, except to make sure they are prompt, nice, and respectful. How much is appropriate to tip a waitress/waiter?

415What a bunch of vacuous Sophistry!Do you ever wonder if life as we know it is really someone else's dream?
416And Ibuprofen is just another variety of N-SAID, or Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflamatant Drug. Now don't I look just too smart to live? Gotta watch out, though, cause N-SAIDS are rough on your kidneys. * wink *

417Was knocked silly hitting the water wrong from the diving board as a child, and sank to the bottom. Made it back up choking on water, and too weak to swim, and no one knew I was in trouble. My friends were a few feet away, the lifeguard didn't notice. I couldn't call out, and started to sink again. Somehow I made it, and no one ever knew anything was wrong. Worked out in the end.Have you ever thought you were about to die?
418It depends. I would fear old age more than an easy, timely, natural death, if old age meant a couple of decades of dementia and total physical decrepitude. However, faced with a choice between a long, tortured, lingering death, or a graceful and comparatively healthy old age, I fear the long slow death more. Are you more frightened by the thought of dying or the thought of growing old?
