21I'm surprised lethal injection came in first - I've always read that it was the worst way to die. Why do people feel hanging is so awful? A neck snap is faster even than getting shot ... I know people who were shot in the head and lived a while. A broken neck is over immediately.5 ways to die
22ElijahBlue: But you know my entire world is idealized ;) I imagine the same precautions about accuracy must be taken with any method ...5 ways to die
23Yes, in the sense that what I say is usually PC, but I don't do it to be PC. I really do have gay and black and asian and Scottish and fat and other friends, and I wouldn't want to hurt any of them. When my SO's mom talks casually about 'niggers', I cringe not because it's non-PC but because it's derogatory.Do you consider yourself "politically correct"?
24Sutton cops are great - we got our LTCs without any hassle, they respond quickly to calls. Cops in Worcester were also good about dealing with the public and coming out when we had trouble there. Even in CT they were there when we needed them. What do you generally think of policeman/women in your own particular area ?
25Hillbilly: Yes. We in fact both do, are 3 yr members and donate extra to their funds.

I'll add to other comments that we don't rely on the cops to "save us". We are quite capable of saving ourselves. I don't think they do a bad job of trying their best to save those who want to call for help instead, though.

26Pandora: That's exactly what I've found. My ex's stepfather was a state cop, my SO's stepfather just retired as a NYC detective and his mom was a dispatcher. The things these people went through is mind-boggling. People get down on them for speeding tickets and the minor stuff they have to do, but rarely thank them for going into drug dens or breaking up dosmestic squabbles or being there at 3am when someone breaks into your house. I really think there should be a "civil service" for the rousting of teenagers (which is usually done because the storekeepers are complaining - not just because the cops think it's fun), giving of tickets, and other 'nuisance' kinds of tasks. That way we can still think of cops as the "protector" people instead of the "harassing" people. Most cops I know truly went in because they wanted to help people. Now most feel that the people don't want to be helped by them, and it affects them.

Yes, there are bad cops just like there are bad people in every job. Even the bad cops risk their lives for the rest of us, though.

27I went to two junior proms - my year-long junior-year BF was at Holy Cross High. My year-long senior-year BF was 2 yrs older than me so he just came with me to mine.

I think this is rated well because it has great options and is on a subject I think we all can easily relate to. I voted it 'good' easily.
Did you attend your high school senior prom?
28Pandora: Hmmm, I'm curious. I also didn't do most school activities - rallies and games and such. But the prom was more of a "me and my 3 friends all go to dinner with our boyfriends, then we go to the prom and dance together all night". It never occurred to me that it might be shallow - it was no different than us all going to dinner and going to the local teen club to dance. It was just much "nicer" than the teen club.Did you attend your high school senior prom?
29From those I would choose Churchill. It's hard to remember now how serious WWII was.Who do you think is the person of the century ?
