| 36 | I saw a documentary about how smart pigs are. They were solving that puzzle where a shape is put into a corresponding space, something primates can do but dogs can't. They are very intelligent. I really started thinking about how they must suffer living to feed us.
I asked a guy at work who used to work at an abattoir how the animals react. He said the pigs know they are going to be killed, stress badly and struggle to get away. They can hear the other pigs being killed. He said they are very smart. Sheep, he believes, have no clue what's going on. Cattle are somewhat worried but nothing like pigs. I stopped eating pork after that. I don't eat shellfish because they look hideous. BTW, oysters have the best supply of zinc in any food.
