| 2346 | It's not taking the piss out of Einstein. It's sarcasm. By calling a person you consider stupid Einstein it is in no way demeaning the name Einstein. It's reconfirming his brilliance. It would be like calling an ugly man Brad Pitt. The point is to highlight the differences between the two people, not make Einstein or Pitt out to be stupid or ugly. In Australia intelligent people aren't considered as socially acceptable as good looking people. Having said that, we have a thing here called Tall Poppy Syndrome and the Cultural Cringe. IF we see a successful Aussie overseas acting real Aussie we feel a little embarassed and tend to rip them to pieces in the press here.
