My parents were fairly strict. I was only allowed 30 minutes per day. This included watching TV at other people's houses. I was such a square that I actually obeyed this and would tell my friends that I couldn't watch any more TV at their house when my time was up. I'm really glad about this, though, and I plan to enforce it with my kids (some day) too. lisashea: We didn't have cable. Let me assure you there was nothing on the networks that would have "bettered" me. | How much TV did your parents let you watch as a kid?
"Diver Down" from Van Halen. It was on vinyl (72 rpm? does that sound right?). I bought it when I was 11 with money I earned from cleaning golfballs on a driving range. | What were the first albums/singles you ever bought with your own money? And what media were they on?
I'm invisible | Do you make an impression on other people?
When I first started BBSing at the tender age of 11, I made up for my insecurities by calling myself "Marauder" and acting tough. I soon got over it though and have gone by my name ever since. I sometimes use the old handle again just for grins. My family calls me nu-noo. | Besides your Survey Central handle, what other nicknames or handles do you go by?
I usually say something to the effect of "Sorry, friend". I assume the money would go to booze/drugs, but I try not to be rude to them, anyways. Every once in a while I'll give a little if I get a good vibe from them. | What do you do when you see someone begging for money on the street?
Ender's Game The Lord of the Rings (its been a long time, though) Neuromancer | What are your favorite books?
I would think the person was either crazy or mistaken. I can't think of anything I have done recently that anyone would care about. | If someone came up to you on the street, outside your place of business or your home, and whispered "I know what you did," what would you think they were referring to?
We certainly wouldn't be discussing if a normal citizen should be removed from their job because of marital infidelity. | Do you feel that we expect the President of the United States to be somehow better than normal citizens?
I am such an invisible person that I could go somewhere every day and they wouldn't recognize me. | At how many restaurants are you a "regular"?
I see where you are going, but technically it doesn't make sense. Its impossible to tell the difference between red and blue (or any other color mix) on a grayscale if they are the same brightness. I've often wondered how a person's perception of the world would change if they actually perceived blue as yellow, red as blue, etc. I think not at all. | Could someone who sees in Black and White see colors?
