Overall, childhood was wonderful, but there were some periods that really sucked (almost dying at 12 was one of them). College was fantastic and horrible, at the same time. The last ten years have not been good, overall, but things are trending sharply upwards. I am looking forward to experiencing my own larvae's childhoods some day - my Dad has been really transformed by being able to be around for my youngest sister's kid-hood. He's happier now than any other time I can remember. [Twanger, I hate to break this to you, but although you may still be childlike(ish?;), at 18, you are *not* a child anymore. Eit!] | Was childhood really "the best years of your life"?
I like well-designed time-pieces. Since folks have been making analog ones longer, there are more good examples of these. But I've got a few digital faves too. Btw, ergonomists have found that people comprehend the time *faster* with analog clocks. | Do you prefer digital or analog (mechanical with hands) time-pieces?
Other than the alarm clock at my bed, which I set ahead a few minutes (like my subconcious is really fooled - ha!), I try to keep them all at the same time. The hand-wound ones need to be looked after twice weekly. The digital ones, including the one I carry with me, are all synched to the same network time server, which gets its info from the Naval atomic clock. | In general, how close to the actual time do you keep your time-pieces?
If the whole world was put back - it wouldn't feel the same as if you did it "for real" now, would it? And of course, this itself is ridiculous, since you are part of the world, and if you were allowed to remember, you wouldn't be the same either. | If you were given the opportunity to do something really bad just to see what it was like, then after you did it the whole world was put back to where it was before you did it (no harm done). Would you do any of the following?
bang Bang BANG BANGA BAGNABAGANAGABANAGABNAGABANG! | Do you sometimes get the urge to destroy physical objects?
Thule | What car do you drive?(i.e. from what country. In the comment state if you are satisfied with it)
I think there should be a good president. If it turns out that the best choice is a woman, so be it. BTW, the libertarians have put forward three female candidates for VP, but I personally think that Nancy Lord (VP candidate in 92) would make a great president. | Do you think there should be a woman president?
You mean my bookmarks? I added three this morning, the latest being a page of hardware hacks for the Newton. | What was the last web-page you added to your list of favorites, and why?
I don't have a boss - I work for myself. If I did it, I'd be a generous guy - but I'd still rather give myself a raise. | Your boss is giving the whole crew (including significant others) a holiday in Las Vegas. Air fare and hotel rooms included. You pay for everything else. Is this a great deal or not?
Several. My mother and I were rear-ended once by someone who fell asleep at the wheel and hit us at a stop light. We had whiplash - she was much more seriously injured. And I've been in a cab when a semi decided to take a right turn from the left lane at the Mass Ave/Boylston intersction and ran over the corner of the cab, crushing it. Cabbie and I were unhurt (by inches) but the cab was a complete loss. | Have you ever been in a major automobile accident? By major, I mean one that caused a car to be undriveable or injured someone badly enough that they required medical attention.
