#CommentSurvey
4431No, I still see a few people I used to hang out with at school but my best friends all moved away. I do plan on getting in contact with them again, as I've seen their names on friendsreunited, but I'm kind of stuck in a "well if he wanted to get in touch with me, he would have e-mailed *me* by now!" rut. Do you still get together (see each other) with your best friends from high (secondary) school?
4432No, they're probably not paid up members. But then my profile has my e-mail addy hidden in it, in a way that is fairly obvious to anyone with half a brain (ie - anyone I'd actually want to get back in touch with) that reads it, but near impossible to picked up by a computer

Well.. its about time I changed my details on this thing. I registered in February and hardly anyone was here at all. Just (my_name) and a few other names. Now look (at) it! (y a h o o)!

I'm still working in Nottingham as 3rd line support on a technical helpdesk, although not for a dotcom company, or even a (dot co dot uk) company.

Would love to hear from you!

4433I was going to say "I think that age has no bearing on relationships of this nature and that people of any age can be in love", but of course that's not true. Age does have a bearing, because age influences cultural identity, language, maturity, motives and outlook. It's not an impenetrable obstacle to love, but it does have an effect on the nature of the relationship. I don't think that we all have the capacity to fall in love with someone of any age, but I do think that some people are drawn to other people of a different age group for various reasons, and as long as the relationship is healthy for both people then there's nothing wrong with it.What do you think about "May-December" romances?
4434Krusty, I suppose.Who's your favorite clown?
4435It's great to be a man because the world is your urinal. The queues for the toilets are always shorter. You get brownie points for doing things you find easy (like opening jars, getting something off a high shelf). You can go into a pub on your own without feeling self-conscious. You don't have to wear make-up to look good. You become more attractive to the opposite sex as you get older (up to a point). The waiter let's you taste the wine first in a restaurant (even if you're not paying!).

It's not so great to be a man, because you're expected to have an encyclopedic knowledge about DIY, car maintenance, gardening and sport. You get lampooned for being sexist, but are expected to put up with women carrying "All Men are Bastards!" keyrings or "If its got wheels or bollocks, it's going to give you grief". For three days of every month, everything is your fault. For the other 28 days of every month, everything is still your fault. The only times you're allowed to cry in public are at a funeral or a football match when your team has just lost.

It's great to be a woman because you get to create life and feel it growing inside you. You can go out on the town and end up with more money than when you started (as everyone buys you drinks). You can like musicals, hold hands with a friend and talk about soft furnishings without having your sexuality brought into question.

It's not so great to be a woman because even though women have their fair share of health problems (breast cancer, oesteoporosis, period pains, etc) you're more likely to be patronised by your doctor and accused of making it up. Your hormones can sometimes make you irrational and horrible to be around. You're more likely to be unhappy about your appearance and your body. You're more likely to be the victim of a sexual assault.

4436So now I'm nasty because I don't fancy men? I didn't realise the worst thing about being a woman was the possibility of going out with me.It is great to be a man because.....
4437Funny you should say that, because some of the most misogynistic people I know are either gay men or straight women. It is great to be a man because.....
4438*takes a bow*

which comment were you applauding to, mandy?
It is great to be a man because.....
4439 * frown * to you too. I thought most people's comments were sexist (including confetti, Biggles, Enheduanna, mandy and grmbrand) but harmlessly so. Hardly anything I've read on this survey warranted a * frown * , except Dino's indictment of straight men.It is great to be a man because.....
4440Women are not always the centre of all families. Suicide is higher amongst men than women.

Are you sure you can tell the difference between truth and stereotype?
