I think it's important for people to feel that they are involved in the way their lives are run. When government runs a lot of your life, I think democracy is the only way to feel positively about that. There are good arguments for enlightened despotism, but there's no way to ensure succession of able rulers without democracy and different rulers have different talents. So, overall, I'd have to say yes, with a nod to Churchill. | Do you think that Democracy is the best political system for humans ?
I was once very amused to notice that I was hosting a brunch at which Boston intelligensia were sipping champagne and discussing the expressionists vs. the impressionists. And then even more amused when, 45 minutes, we had switched to beer and were discussing where one puts one's ponytail when one is peeing. So I can't say I find any topic strictly verboten...it's a question of timeliness. | What topics of conversation should be avoided at a party (click all that apply, suggest more in your comment)?
"Most often" I read or jack in (the social/solitary nature of that one is debatable. But I also do stuff in the other categories fairly regularly. | What do you most often do to relax?
I am told, though I don't know this for certain, that the ATM receipt is not actually legal proof of deposit, so I try to make my deposits to a human and get an actual receipt. | You go to your bank to make a deposit. When you get there you see a human teller and a machine-teller(ATM), neither has a line in front of it. Which one do you use?
At once? Da Vinci, Shakespeare and Karl Marx. Tho' Dorothy Parker, Groucho Marx and Andy Warhol also popped into my head. | If you could have dinner with any 3 people who ever lived who would they be?
I tried to be skinny for a long time and merely made myself unhappy. Now I focus on being happy and let my weight take care of itself. If I'm not willing to do the work to change, there's no point in being unhappy about it. | Are you satisfied with your own physical appearance(height, weight, hair color, muscle tone)?
Except for those booth-tables, like at Morton's, where it's only a question of how far apart on the bench the two of you sit. | You go out to dinner on a romantic date. The waiter shows you to your table which has 4 chairs. Your date sits down. Where do you sit?
face first, then hair | When you finish your shower, what part do you dry first?
I thought it was kind of strange, actually, but I've realized since that it was close enough to normal that most other people think it falls in that range. | Did you have a "normal", happy childhood?
Actually, I brush my teeth, first. | When you take a shower, what part do you start washing first?
