| 75 | I'm going to go see it. I'm going to go see it on opening day, in fact, a matinee. I expect that it will be two hours of exactly the same bullcrap I've gotten used to from the series, with better effects and the characters able to swear. I expect the exact same feeling like everything is coming together at the end, and when you go back and think about it, you have learned exactly nothing, and there are still as many or more open dangly questions left by the "quick sweep it under the rug in the last 10 minutes" as we started with. But I'm hoping to be surprised... :) Bill, Hunter: Yup. It's like any other "quest oriented" show (Battlestar Galactica, Voyager, etc...) - if they acheive their goal, the show loses its motivation. However, I was really impressed by the limo scene in which the british guy tells Mulder EXACTLY what's going on! Despite the fact that I think my prediction was about 90% correct, that scene and the general quality of the film redeemed it for me somewhat. I hope there is, because it seems just outrageous to me that in all the universe only one little planet would evolve living things. But we certainly don't have any evidence for it so far (unless you count the mars meteorites, but even that's pretty weak). I guess that last bit is sort of begging the question, though, since the bigger the universe is, the harder it gets to find the other pockets of life, even though they become more likely to be there... | Do you believe that there is life on other planets? |
