I have a Nokia 2160 cellphone, which has alphanumeric paging built in. It is simply the coolest. I carry it with me frequently, but not always (like my Psion). I really like having a cellphone, and that I can set it to "msgs only" mode so it doesn't ring, but I can receive numeric pages and short emails. It's been a total lifesaver several times, and a cool gadget always. Course I always do keep meaning to leave it on more often... Uh, OK, it wasn't actually the coolest. My new Nokia 6120 is the coolest. :) About 3/4 the size of the 2160, much better display, has much better standby time (so I leave it on all the time now), a built in clock/calendar, and VIDEO GAMES (!)... I'm such a sucker for geek toys. | Do you have a pager?
Gin and Tonics, Margaritas, and Sangria in the summer, and coffee with sambuca or bailey's in the winter... I've also recently discovered that when a martini is constructed REALLY WELL, I actually like them quite a bit! Unfortunately, it seems very hard to find really well done ones. Although I've tried, I just do not seem to get the beer thing, so I leave it to my friends to enjoy. I do like hard cider an awful lot, though. Hm, I guess i wish I could have picked more than one... | If you drink alcohol, which do you prefer?
I'm a web developer at work, so I have to switch between IE and Netscape a lot. I don't have much of a preference, although lately I'm swinging a bit in the IE direction (DHTML is I really love the idea of Opera, though I haven't actually tried it yet.... | Which Internet browser do you use?
$3M would just about do it, if I invested it well. I think I could probably live pretty happily off of $2M, actually, but if this really is set for life, I'd pump it to three. More than that would be great because I'd love to be able to really play with it - fund some startup companies doing cool stuff, give LOTS of money to various charities + research institutions, and be able to think about setting a few other people up for life as well.... but that's all pretty much gravy. | How much money would you need to be set for life?
I couldn't pick. I really really love the White Album, Sgt. Pepper's, Abbey Road, and Revolver... but they're all really amazing. OK, so next question - why do I only OWN one of them (Sgt. Pepper)? * Bill - might have to do that myself... 'cept I'd probably use Amazon.com and just succumb to the book-buying urge as well... | What's your favorite Beatles album?
I even carry it around in my all-purpose "it's not a purse" shoulder bag... | Do you have a passport?
I have a brand new house, and thus I am being a bit over-uptight about the whole pest issue. I mostly do NOT want anything not sanctioned by me breeding little'un's in my home. I've always liked spiders, and I figure they keep the insect populations down, so I generally just leave them (I relocated the one that had taken up nest in my wiring closet, though - I will not have webs and such in my wiring closet, nosir!), but all the rest I would feel pretty compelled to show out the door. Bees/wasps I might actually kill, because I have a completely irrational fear of the damn things. I would actually like to encourage a few bats to take up residence just OUTSIDE my house, but I still wouldn't want 'em inside. | If you spotted the following in your living quarters, which would make you nervous or uneasy until it was gone?
OK, I'm impressed. Did you write all those from memory? | Who are your favorite Simpsons characters?
I'd bring Elizabeth and all of her stuff. :) Oh, and a COMFORTABLE, QUIET, truck. With a good stereo system... I can think of at least 6 people I'd love to do this with, in a comfy car with a good selection of music and food. I think a tape recorder would be a great way to journal the trip. Camping stuff for some nights, hotels others. Comfy clothing, good shoes (and boots for hiking). | Say you are going on a road trip across the country (one coast to the other [usa]) with two friends. Who and what would you bring?
I used to, every day, but for the past couple of years I've only been wearing it when I know I'm going to be doing something energetic (skiing, dancing, etc) or nervous-making (interviews, public speaking). I find that I don't get very stinky at my desk job, and I like to minimize the amount of chemicals I apply to myself when I can. | Do you use deodorant/antiperspirant?
