| 21 | jeez i have to go back a long way for this one. i'm the only one who seems to spout phrases and proverbs as advice. i think the last time is when i was talking about something being immposible and my friend said something along the lines of "not everyone believed Galileo when he said the Earth was round." i noticed that no one ever seems to take another persons words to heart. people struggle in a never ending battle to protect their beliefs. no one wants to concede to another persons wisdom. It reminds me of Death of a Salesmen. How Willy Loman tried to hold on to his beliefs in the American Dream, fighting with his sons views while trying to validate his own. Slowly his dreams corrode his soul and leaves him nothing more than a walking mass, alive but for what reason. I believe that this is true and that people should take other people's words to heart. i just now realized this as i write. now someone is going to ironically tell me to shut up. | What's the most sensible, sound advice or piece of wisdom you've heard in a long time? |
