No, but I put my children in that position without realizing how horrible it was for them. Unfortunately by the time I was strong enough to rectify the situation it was far too late. For that I can never forgive myself. | Have you ever felt Afraid of a parent, step-parent, or legal guardian?
Books and TV are like people. You find good and bad in both. There are things you can get from one that you can't get from the other. I would say I do equal shares of reading and watching TV. | Do you believe that reading a book is better than watching TV?
I had always hoped I would never spank my children but frustration won out (it's very difficult reasoning with a two year old who is throwing a temper tantrum and has lost control). My memory is that I would (on the rare occasion it was necessary) spank their bottoms once or perhaps twice. I'm sure their memories are that I beat the crap out of them on a daily basis....just in case. My daughter has told me since then that the "standing in the corner" thing did more to harm her (psychologically) than a spanking would have. "Damned if you do and damned if you don't". It's a decision everyone has to make at the moment, hope it's the right one, and be prepared to live with the consequences. | Would you/have you ever spanked your child?
Whenever it was it was necessary to spank (one or two smacks on the fanny)it wasn't for discipline but rather to get the child's attention. Having to deal with my face was the punishment. | Do you think spanking is an effective means of discipline?
I think we probably do on some subconscious level. | Do you feel that we expect the President of the United States to be somehow better than normal citizens?
First I want to say, "DAMN!!!!!" I pulled up SC, setting my eyes to "see in the dark" mode when BAM!!! ....I got hit with this flash of bright light. At first I thought I was having a stroke....then I realized bill had gotten rid of the black background. BRAVO!!!! PLAUDITS!!!! Praises to you from your most humble of followers. (no...I didn't answer "I'm not sure"). Now I can get rid of those funny little goggles GIs use for night maneuvers. THANKS!!!! :) | Should Bill resurrect the black background?
This one's a toughie but it would probably be the early 60's. I'm sure I've blocked out any bad memories but the whole "make love not war" mentality really suited me. I remember a lot of nights spent on the beach, listening to good music, solving the problems of the world, getting high and "feeling groovey". | If you were granted one round trip in a time machine, where/when would you go?
If no one's watching I twist it apart and eat the frosting first. If someone's there I act like a grown up and just bite it. My favorite this to do is eat a whole package of them in the waiting room of the dentist just before I go in for a cleaning ;) (thank you Steven Wright) | How do you usually eat an oreo cookie?
The closest I've been to being a "regular" anywhere was when I was on vacation. It was a great little "gay" diner on Bourbon Street. I ate there every day. By the time I was ready to come home the "counter guy" and I were on a "hugs goodbye" level. He called me his "irregular regular". Damn I miss that place! | At how many restaurants are you a "regular"?
I'm afraid I'm one of those wishy-washy spring/fall people....not crazy about extremes. Summer without the humidity is ok and I can't imagine no snow (or at least the chance of it) for Christmas. I have a hard time dealing with shoveling and sliding all over the road and taking an hour and a half to make a 20 minute trip kinda sucks, but taking a walk at night when it's snowing and hearing the crunch beneath your feet and the flakes sparkling...hmmmm...i guess if the weather's poetic I like it. | Seasons
