11You can always ask a question, read a book or look something up. If you don't have common sense you and/or the people around you will have a very difficult life.Which do you value more; common sense knowledge or academic or "learned"knowledge?
12Maturity has to do with learning from one's mistakes and the desire to be a better person.Maturity
13Since "evil dictators" are rarely the one's who are killed, wars will not stop them. To stop them only one bullet is necessary.
War is good for the economy but little (if anything) else.
War, what is it good for?
14I can't think of anything. The only things I didn't like growing up were lima beans, minestrone soup and eggplant. I still don't like them and there's no reason, at this point in my life, to try to cultivate a taste for them.

(The immoral practice of giving a child beer seems to be more prevelant than I had imagined. Very sad that people think children are put here to entertain us)

I used to dislike <fill in food or drink here> when I was younger, but now I like it.
15The situation would never arise. If my SO was cheating I would have to find out about it some other way. Privacy is very important to me and I would never read anyone else's email or any other kind of mail without them giving it to me to read. I wouldn't do that any more than I would look through their wallet/purse or drawers or ANYTHING.What are the moral implications of looking at a significant other's email? If you did find anything bad (ie cheating) how would you approach the subject with him/her?
16dpolicar...THEY'RE the ones who are cheating when they ask you for answers. By going to a reference, you're learning. I would much rather find an answer and learn something (something useless occasionally but something just the same) than leave something unfinished.Do you like crossword puzzles?
17It's called "being a grown up".
You obviously have a very intellegent fiance who understands the meaning of "friend". If it ever gets to the point you would rather spend time with your friends than your SO, the gender of your friends isn't the problem.
How do you feel about guys and girls being "just friends"?
18TOO forgiving.How forgiving are you?
19I never finished college so I guess I have to say "none". On the other hand, I feel every job I've had was "real". I'm sure the garbage collector feels his job is "real". We've seen what happens when they don't do their job.
I guess the "reality" of the job is in the eye of the beholder.

lisashea...I was in management with McDonalds. It was hardly a "no thought" job and I was making almost twice what I'm making now after 10 years in a "real" job with the bank. The bank offers courses for us to better ourselves and improve our skills...McDonalds REQUIRED them. I had to know far more to run a McDonalds than I do in my present position.
The job doesn't have to be "white collar" to be real.

How many "real" jobs have you had?
20Looks like it wouldn't be worth all that now. If I caught the one that actually BROKE the record I would give it to McGwire. It's a symbol of HIS personal accomplishment. Why would anyone want to deprive him of that? Just for the money??? What a sad statement.

Jody...You're absolutely right about the paycheck. I think many people in the entertainment field (which is what professional sports is) are highly overpaid and teachers are definitely underpaid. As long as we're willing to pay more for entertainment than we are for a child's education it will stay that way. I guess I was just thinking about his son and future grandchildren bringing their friends home from school to see the ball that his Dad hit to break the record. I'm sure he wouldn't bring them over to see his paycheck.
Granted they're in the minority, but there are still people out there who take pride in their accomplishments and that's more important to them than the almighty dollar that seems to be so impressive to people today.
Which do you think the underpaid teacher (a TRUE teacher..not someone just going through the motions for a paycheck and lots of days off) would rather have...$1000 or a scrapbook filled with handwritten notes from students telling him/her how much of a difference they made in their lives?

What would you do if you caught Mark McGwire's 61st or 62nd home run?
